Contribution to My Learning and the Learning Community: EDLD 5320
In EDLD 5320, Synthesis of Digital Learning and Leadership, I’ve continued to grow as a reflective digital leader by engaging deeply in course assignments, collaborating with my peers, and applying what I’ve learned to refine my Innovation Plan. I believe I’ve earned a score of 90–100 based on the consistent contributions I’ve made to both my learning and our learning community.
This course gave me the opportunity to look back on my learning journey and make meaningful connections across all aspects of the ADL program. The COVA Reflection and Application assignment was especially powerful, as it pushed me to reflect on how Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity have transformed the way I approach teaching and learning. Through this reflection, I was able to clearly see how COVA shaped my classroom practices, specifically through the integration of iPads and QR codes in my Art and PALS classes, and helped me empower my students to take ownership of their creativity and leadership development.
I also updated my Innovation Plan in this course to better align with my current role as a classroom teacher. My plan originally began during my time as a library paraprofessional, and it’s been rewarding to evolve it into something that is directly impacting students in real-time. Peer feedback from Kheila Williams and Ennija Armour was incredibly valuable in helping me strengthen my goals, clarify the “why” behind my updates, and ensure my plan was realistic, measurable, and connected to student engagement.
As in previous courses, we maintained strong communication through Zoom, FaceTime, and GroupMe, where we helped each other problem-solve, shared encouragement, and celebrated our wins. This collaborative support made a huge difference in how confident I felt during the synthesis process, especially when putting together my COVA reflection and making final updates to my Innovation Plan.
I continued to meet all deadlines, engage thoughtfully in course discussions, and revise my work based on constructive feedback. I also contributed to my peers’ learning by offering comments on their reflections and sharing classroom examples when appropriate. These conversations helped me reflect more deeply on my own journey and how far we’ve all come together.
One area I still aim to improve is taking initiative in group settings, being the one to kick off discussions or suggest new ideas. While I’ve been a steady contributor and supporter, I know I can grow further by stepping into more of a leadership role within my peer group.
Overall, EDLD 5320 has helped me synthesize the knowledge and growth I’ve experienced throughout this program. I’m proud of the work I’ve done, the collaboration I’ve shared, and the continued impact of my innovation efforts on students and colleagues alike.
