MY WHY
The essence of my "Why" is rooted in the belief that technology-driven learning is key to fostering confident, independent learners. Through my experience as a library aide, I have witnessed how digital tools can ignite a passion for learning, especially for students who struggle with traditional methods. Technology, such as iPads and interactive platforms, enables students to explore topics at their own pace and empowers them to take charge of their learning. This approach not only enhances academic growth but also helps students develop crucial skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy, preparing them for life after graduation.
I am committed to bridging the digital divide by ensuring that every student has access to technology, especially those who lack it at home. By introducing blended learning in the library, incorporating iPads and QR codes, I aim to create a space where students can thrive academically and socially. The initiative is not just about adding technology but about providing students with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in the future workforce. This change is urgent, as technology continues to evolve, and I feel deeply responsible for equipping our students with the skills necessary for their success in college and careers.
INFLUENCER STRATEGY
The influencer strategy for integrating iPads and QR codes into the Lyford High School library focuses on increasing student engagement, enhancing digital literacy, and providing greater access to diverse learning resources. The goal is to see greater use of iPads for research and creative projects, increased participation in tech-driven activities, and improved student learning outcomes. Success will be measured through tracking iPad usage, student participation in QR code activities, feedback from surveys, and academic performance related to technology integration.
The key behaviors we aim to change include greater use of technology in the library, active engagement in collaborative projects, and incorporating tech into research and classroom assignments.
The primary influencers in this strategy include:
Library Staff: Leading the initiative by guiding students in using iPads and QR codes effectively.
Teachers: Integrating technology into their lessons, encouraging students to use digital resources.
Students: Their engagement and feedback will be crucial for the initiative's success.
Administration: Supporting the purchase of necessary technology and promoting the importance of digital learning.
IT Support: Ensuring the technology works smoothly and addressing technical issues.
This strategy relies on collaboration among all stakeholders to successfully integrate technology into the library, creating a dynamic, tech-enhanced learning environment.
4DX PLAN
The 4DX strategy for implementing blended learning in Ms. Nadia Flores’s Art and PALS classes focuses on using iPads and QR codes to enhance student engagement and learning. The strategy includes setting clear goals for technology use, such as providing digital tutorials in Art and leadership resources in PALS, and tracking progress through weekly activities and digital scoreboards. Regular check-ins and reflections ensure accountability and continuous improvement. By leveraging peer collaboration and consistent feedback, this approach aims to create a dynamic and effective learning environment that fosters student growth and engagement.
Self-differentiated leadership & Crucial Conversations
This assignment focuses on integrating technology into the Art and PALS classrooms while adopting a self-differentiated leadership approach. It highlights the importance of emotional control, clear goal-setting, and fostering an environment where students feel supported during the transition to using tools like iPads and QR codes. The assignment emphasizes the role of "Crucial Conversations" in managing challenges, such as student frustrations with technology, by creating a space for open dialogue and active listening. Through these strategies, the goal is to empower students to embrace technology, build trust, and enhance their learning experience in a collaborative setting.
