Genesis 1:1-31
God Creates the Heavens and the Earth
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
John 1:1-14
Jesus Was With God at the Beginning of Creation
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
6 There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Matthew 19:4-6
Jesus Speaks About the Creator of Earth and on Man and Woman In the Beginning
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
God created the earth and the heavens...When He spoke the world came into being...Now doubt it was a most interesting time and could have been a very loud and a most exciting of times...God is in control of the universe and the stars, the moon, the air, gravity, plants, and all the things man needs are on the earth...God makes sure that the universe stays finely tuned for man...Man is able to live on earth because God made the oxygen levels, and gravity levels, and the sun's distance from the earth (and all the other things that God tunes and controls) for man to live on earth and progress towards seeking and finding more things about Him...But He gives us free will to do as much seeking or as little seeking as we want...
There are other theories how earth and man came into being and one is about a primitive soup theory or primeval chemicals theory that happened to explode and bang billions of years ago...Some call it the primordial soup theory...The first person to come up with this primitive soup theory may have been Charles Darwin...It is also called the Warm Little Pond Theory...In 1871 Charles Darwin wrote a letter to a botanist named Joseph Hooker, and it was one of his theories about how life might have gotten started, and maybe how man came into being...The letter had this quote in it: “It is often said that all the conditions for the first production of a living organism are present, which could ever have been present...But if (and Oh! what a big if!) we could conceive in some warm little pond, with all sorts of ammonia and phosphoric salts, light, heat, electricity, etc., present, that a protein compound was chemically formed ready to undergo still more complex changes, at the present day such matter would be instantly devoured or absorbed, which would not have been the case before living creatures were formed.”...
Somehow or Someone was holding this collection of ammonia and phosphoric salts, light, heat, electricity, etc., present, that this protein compound was chemically formed and ready to undergo these great and complex changes together...If I believe in this warm little pond theory then I must believe that there was this most tremendous universal explosion...This explosion shook the universe...And out of this tremendous explosion can life, design, and order...Also, out of this tremendous random explosion, there came this order to the universe -if you believe this theory...And so, if one believes this Warm Little Pond Theory, then we all have a history and this great connection with this warm little pond...Everyone, who has ever lived and died, has an ancestor from this same place -this warm little pond...
Of course, there were no men to eyewitness the start and the creation of the universe...But there was One Man (if it fair to call Him a Man) who did come to earth and He WAS actually there, and has been here since since the beginning...He saw things being created...In fact, through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made...In Him was life, and that life was the Light of men...
Jesus actually said this about creation...And although it does not directly relate to the heavens and earth being created, He mentions the beginning had a Creator...Jesus says “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?...So they are no longer two, but one flesh...Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”...Jesus indirectly implies that God, the Creator, created everything, including Adam and Eve...Jesus does not say we evolved from some primitive chemical soup or started out as a one or two cell reptilian living creature, before we evolved and turned into man...He, nor Moses do not say that animals and plants are made in the image of God...
So there are a few things I do agree with Darwin and his warm little pond theory...I do believe that the process of creation was very, very complex...I, also, believe water was involved, and I believe that Light was involved in the beginning...We are told of water and the Light in Genesis...The Light was there watching and helping, and all the things made were made through Him, and without him nothing that was made would have been made...
St. John got to know the One who was known as the Light...He witnessed Him and His messenger, John the Baptist...He saw and learned from this One, known as the Light...St John seen His signs -and realized that this Man was the True Light that gives Light to every man who comes into the world -and to all who receive Him and believe in His name...
