Matthew 19:13-15
The Little Children and Jesus
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
Matthew 18:1-6
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 "And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. 6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
Some people, many people, I suspect, look at status and power of others...The scholarly, heroes and military men are looked up to...But here Jesus talks about the Greatest in the Kingdom of God being like little children...
Jesus LOVED children...He said that little children humble themselves...Little children get biased by what they learn from others and what others do to them...Jesus would have a great and positive influence on them...When Jesus was with children, I suspect, He knew they had no opinion of Him, so what He said to them was listened to with their great curiosity...Little children lack status and power...Little children can look at Truth and do not have preconceived notions of what is to be or not to be...Children follow naively and humbly to do whatever they are doing...There is this necessity in being naive and having humbleness...And little children look and learn from those they are with...Jesus would help them with the quality of being naive and He greatly believed in being humble...
I believe little children have more peace, splendor thoughts, and contentment than their elders because they have less negative thoughts about life and less opinions and bias about the world and about what is Truth...Jesus told His Disciples to let the little children to come to Him, and not to hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the little children and to people like them...
