Matthew 18:1-6
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 "And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. 6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
Jesus called a little child to stand among His Disciples...And then He said "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven...Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven..."And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me...But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."...
Sometimes we think we as we are grown up and grown we think we are smart...But do we really know that much...Is our curiosity and naivety still with us, wanting us to learn more?...Jesus wants us to be like little children, to think along their lines and means and ways...And they are naive, humble, curious and wanting to learn more about everything...Their hearts are filled with joy and they love all things and all people...The little ones surely must have been curious about Jesus, and who He was, and what He could do...Especially, those children who got to see Him do some of His miracles...
Philosopher Criss Jami speaks of little children and says this...“Beyond all sciences, philosophies, theologies, and histories, a child's relentless inquiry is truly all it takes to remind us that we don't know as much as we think we know.”...
Let us humble ourselves like children and then we can be great in heaven...
