Jesus is Truth
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 18:28-40
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. 32 This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die.
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him. 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?”
40 They shouted back, “No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.

Jesus Words Will Pass Away
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Truth lives on...A truth told thousands of years ago, and if it is truth remains the truth even today...An old truth that has not been seen before or a truth that hasn't been seen in awhile can become alive and be resurrected...So words that were written or spoken that are truth are not transient but alive and live on -and on...
I often like to read or hear about someone who has an original thought, or an original idea, or speaks something original...Being and finding something original is difficult...C. S. Lewis was an original and gifted writer...He tells us that it is difficult for us to be original without knowing about truth...And when we try to be original it becomes even more difficult...Lewis said this about being original, “Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.”...
When Pilate asks Jesus what is Truth, it is a very good question...Jesus tells us indirectly that He is a King...In fact, the reason He was born and came into the world is to testify to the Truth...Everyone on the side of Truth listens to Him...Jesus is Truth and testifies to the Truth...It turns out Truth is a Person...Truth is a Man, if it is fair to call Him a Man...And this Man spoke the most original and mighty words ever spoken...He is unsurpassed in the spoken word department...
It would not be an exaggeration to say that Jesus is quite unique and the most original...Maybe it is because, if you believe like Lewis, Jesus is Truth...Jesus always spoke the Truth and testified to the Truth...Truth is a Person...Jesus is completely surrounded by Truth, and this would make Him the most original One ever to be...Jesus' spoken words were and are still noticed, because they are based in Truth...Heaven and earth will pass away, but Jesus' words will never pass away...All and everything He said and did was and is Truth...
Jesus has been with God from the beginning...He is the Absolute Truth...He is the Original Truth...
