Mark 12:35-37
Whose Son Is the Messiah?
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared:
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet.”’
37 David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
The large crowd listened to him with delight.
Jesus ask why the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the Son of David...Even David said that God, when He talked to him said called the Messiah was David's LORD, who would sit at His (God's) right hand, and He would put his enemies under your feet...
David knows that the Messiah would be more than a descendant of his...The Messiah would be the Greatest Man to walk the earth...He would be the Greatest Healer and Physician to ever be on earth...He would be the Most Miraculous Man to ever walk our earth, it is fair to call Him a Man...And even though Jesus would be a descendant and Grandson of David's, He was and is, David's LORD...
Jesus is also our LORD, our Savior, and our God (as Thomas said)...
