Memphis, TN - Unfortunately I did not have the time to work on the continuation of last week's story about Friday night activities. I have spent most of the week working on my computer.
My old desktop has served me well for about 10 years, but over the last couple of months has shown its age and has been showing signs of eminent failure and has been on a death spiral which scared me each time I turned it on. As a computer geek it was loaded with programs needed to do the things I like to do with computers and was still running Windows 7 - several operating systems behind the current one.
I ordered a new computer which showed up just a couple of days before we took our vacation to Hilton Head, and I knew I did not have time to work on it before the trip so I set it aside for last week. It was a complete rebuild of all the programs and apps, including a new keyboard, mouse, and the swapping of a storage hard drive from the old system to the new one. It took a lot of computer skills I have not used in years to accomplish the transfer, including some jury-rigging of a couple of devices to make them work on the new system.
That all said, I did not have time to complete the story which I planned to do this week.

August 28, 1947 - December 17, 2017
Thomas Lee Johnson, 70, died in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was born August 28, 1947 in Stamping Ground, Kentucky to the late Mason Lee and Maurice Thomas Riddle Johnson.
He is survived by his sister, Theresa Trumbo; nephews, Justin Baker and Glenn Trumbo and his good friend, Quinton Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Marie Johnson.
Everett Brouillette wrote,
"Tommy wanted to let you know that Thomas Johnson passed away on Dec. 17. He had Liver Cancer and had been living in Lexington, Kentucky. Funny sometimes how life works out. Back in Lee Jr. High we started off hating each other. I have no idea why and ended up being friends for almost 60 years. His wife passed away about a year and a half ago. Just thought l would let you know."
John Hudgens commented:
"Remember Tommy very well in those long ago days. He and his family lived on Mastin Lake Road, west of the Pulaski Pike intersection. Remember the day in 1962, playing touch football, Tommy (tackled me) landed on my foot, breaking almost 13 bones.....Believe I weighed about 110, Tommy already close to 175 at that time! We laughed about it at the reunion many years ago, he telling me "just be glad it was back then, as I've put on some additional pounds!"
