Memphis, TN - I still have a few "16th Birthday" stories in my pile and will continue to publish them in the future. Also, we have a new subject I think would be of interest to many of you. It was suggested to me by Dink Hollingsworth, as noted below in his story. Please consider sending in your own story; I am sure it would make good reading and informative for many of us. It will give us something to talk about at OUR upcoming reunion. Yes I said our. The reunion committee is still afraid many of you do not understand this upcoming reunion in the standard "Every-Five-Year" reunion for the classes of '64-'65-'66, just like we have had every five years for decades. Sure it is the Class of '66's official 50-Year reunion, but it is NOT just for the class of '66. All those who have enjoyed our reunions in the past are still invited to this one - even the classes of '67 and '68 and any others who have previously partied with us or want to start.
Please don't think this is just the Class of '66's reunion. We are all going to help them celebrate it the way we always have.

Jean Louise Biggs Hughes, 88, of Huntsville, AL, died Monday, May 25,2015, at Limestone Health Facility in Athens, AL. She was the daughter of the late Anna Boyanton and Grover Cleveland Biggs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Oliver Lathan Hughes, and her brother, Charles Daniel Biggs, Sr.
She was a longtime member of East Huntsville Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Hughes Ramsey of Huntsville, AL, Patsy Hughes Oldroyd (Keith) of Athens, AL, and Connie Hughes Ibarra of Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren: Jill Ramsey Misner, Michael Ramsey, Todd Willoughby, Cole Willoughby, Tracy Turner Sanchez; eight great-grandchildren: Nick Misner, Heather Ramsey Marshall, Clay Ramsey, Lauryn Willoughby, Parker Willoughby, Anthony Sanchez, Celina Sanchez, Christian Sanchez; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons and services at Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, AL, with Minister Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntstville, AL. Memorial contributions may be made to East Huntsville Church of Christ, 801 Humes Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35801 or Hospice of Limestone County, P.O. Box 626, Athens, AL, 35612.
Where Did That Name Come From?

All of my early life my family then friends called me Dink. I had no idea where that started. Over time I asked my parents and one living grandmother how the name started and none of their explanations agreed with each other and none made sense.
A couple of years ago, at a Hollingsworth Family Reunion, I was looking at a Family Tree and saw my grandfather Hollingsworth had a brother named "Dink".
That might be a topic for you to use, "Do You Have A Nick Name And How Did You Get It?

My Sixteenth Birthday

I turned 16 on June 1, 1962 and was living in Huntsville on Oakwood Avenue with my parents whoI could describe as wonderful. Memorable decor items in my room were my princess phone and my record player and radio. My best friends included Carol Jean Williams, Joan McCutcheon, Frankie Kennedy, and Regna Warren.
My favorite fun activity was roller skating (Tommy knows that) and I loved to watch I Love Lucy on our RCA TV. My favorite type of music was rock n' roll - loved Elvis. My favorite type of movies were Sandra Dee movies.
I was looking forward to turning 16 because I could drive. Our family car was a Ford Galaxy but my primary modes of transportation were parents, boyfriends and also the bus downtown every Saturday. Up until that day, my best vacation I ever had was to Gatlinburg.
My favorite food was my mother's potato salad and lemon pie and if I could eat anywhere I wanted to eat I would go to Shoney's. My favorite beverage was sweet tea.
If I wanted to look good I would wear something of Carol Jean's and I would put on Ambush to smell good.
For my birthday I planned to have a party.
My favorite subject in school was typing and shorthand and I thought I wanted to go to business school after I graduated. My favorite group / organization was the LHS band.
No need to tell now who I had a crush on.
My first kiss was neighbor Greg.

2015 Combined Reunion
Greetings Fami-LEE Classmates of 1964 / 1965 / 1966
We are
“Still Crazy After All These Years!”
Our plans are finally coming together for the upcoming combined class reunion in September 2015. As most of you know, these three classes have celebrated class reunions together several times over the years, usually at 10 year intervals. Beginning with the 2000 reunion it was decided that we would schedule a reunion of combining all three classes every five years. This has proved to be very beneficial for many reasons, but the greatest benefit is being able to see so many of our classmates at the same time!
One of the first things we wanted to do was try to simplify the method of registration and having a link for you to follow to make hotel reservations. We have put in place the registration form to be followed by you to do these two things. With it you have the options of reunion registration payment to either pay by check or credit/debit card. We are hoping in this “paperless age”, this will prove to be easier for everyone.
If you want to pay by check, please fill out the registration form and send it with your check to the address on the registration form.
If you want to pay by credit/debit card, click on the “lhsgenerals2015reunion.eventbrite.com” link on the registration form. You will then be taken to a page for credit/debit card payment. You will be asked for information to be entered in the Handbook also, so please fill this in.
We still need to make sure we have updated information on all our classmates, whether they plan to attend the reunion or not. So please fill out the registration form and send it in to the address on the registration form or send your information requested on the registration form using the e-mail address set up for each class.

With all the technology, social media, and free long-distance phone calling we have now days, plus the weekly Lee’s Traveller, we hope to reach as many classmates as possible before having to resort to the postage costs of snail mail. But there will still be folks that we will not reach, so this is where good old "word of mouth" comes into play. PLEASE help us spread the word by sharing all the information we are sending out. We also want to include those that may have attended Lee, but for various reasons did not get to graduate with us. So anyone you know that might be interested in joining us this year, please have them send their information to the "class e-mail address" they would have been a part of.

Subject: Mullins is Back

Mullins Restaurant reopened today in Five Points after closing abruptly in February, leaving 17 employees out of a job and without paychecks.
The iconic restaurant on 607 Andrew Jackson Way is now under the management of Huntsville natives Mark and Cindy Schrimsher, who have eaten at Mullins for decades. The parking lot was filling up with cars Monday afternoon shortly before the dinner rush began.
When the Schrimshers took over the eatery, they decided to keep the Mullins name because it is synonymous with Huntsville.
"Mullins has always been a part of this town, especially in the Five Points area, and I wanted to continue that," Mark told AL.com in May. "I'm not trying to turn this into something it's not."
Mullins will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Just read this week's Newsletter and appears you were in need for stories. I do not read family stories often but our granddaughter just won the Tropics 16 Year Old Beach Volleyball tonight. Maybe you can use as filler. Story below:
Gulf Shores, AL- Mary Scott Hollingsworth (right) and her Team Mate Kelsie won the 16yr Old Tropics Beach Volley Ball Tournament tonight! She is the youngest Varsity player for Spanish Fort High School and in the season just ended Spanish Fort finished the season ranked # 4 in 6A.
She has played both Travel and AAU the past two seasons and is in her second season playing Two Person Beach Volley Ball. She is a notch under six foot at age 16.
