Overview

This course provides the power plant instrument technician with sound knowledge and competence in the theory and practice of the instrumentation and controls practices of power generating plants. It covers conventional fossil fuel plants with boilers and steam turbines, gas turbines, combined cycle and diesel engine plants. The course covers plant safety procedures, shop and field safety practices, job planning, instrumentation tools and equipment and their functions, installation and maintenance practices, troubleshooting procedures.
