Overview
This course provides the power plant machinist with sound knowledge and competence in the theory and practice of the machine shop practices of power generating plants. It covers conventional fossil fuel plants with boilers and steam turbines, gas turbine, combined cycle and diesel engine plants. The course covers plant safety procedures, shop and field safety practices, job planning, hand and power tools, precision measurements, precision machines, procedures for machining and fabrications.
