Overview
This course provides the power plant mechanic with sound knowledge and competence in the theory and practice of the mechanical maintenance of power generating plants. It covers conventional fossil fuel plants with boilers and steam turbines, gas turbine, combined cycle and diesel engine plants. The course covers plant safety procedures, shop and field safety practices, maintenance planning, hand and power tools, maintenance procedures for machines and structures, hoisting and lifting practices, testing and troubleshooting.
