Partnering with Children on a Journey Toward Joy (1 hr)
Spotlight on "Trust" (1.5hrs)
Parents needing support during this unprecedented time are invited to sit in on this panel discussion with the Unschooling Squad Book Club.
Meet four women who have cultivated their own unique support group, where conversations center around creating a joyful family environment where there is no stress and pressure to perform and where learning happens naturally when children are engaged. We ask ourselves the tough questions and do a lot of self-inquiry to support ourselves and our families.
Be inspired to create your own community of support.
Listen in on what goes on during these monthly meetings and discover how much support setting up a group like this for yourself may offer you.
Following the panel, you will have an opportunity to engage in an Unschooling Q&A session.
Rev. Dhyana Jalande Kluth
As a mother, Dhyana weaves with her training in developmental psychology, mindfulness meditation, Buddhist psychology, animism and the balm of unconditional love to liberate herself and raise free embodied people with love, compassion, equanimity and joy. An essential foundation of Rev. Dhyana Kluth's work as a minister and psychospiritual therapist is to hold the vision of our individual and collective humanity as whole and sovereign.
Human at the core of all other defining attributes, Dhyana is continually learning how to love and live an embodied life, and open her heart to the multidimensional beauty and intrinsic joy of existence. Her journey into motherhood keeps taking her through unexpected unpalatable ugly edges and painful depths of awareness.
As her two unschooled daughters age through each annual rite of passage, Dhyana encounters new layers of residual resistance and control. Along the way -and with consistent effort- she reintegrates and embodies the memories and feelings of her own childhood, awakens from her defenses against unconscious bias, and surrenders to the deschooled experience of primal trust. Again and again.

Ana Maria Nichim Luna Toporek
Ana Maria is a mother of three unschooling children, wife, educator, artist and community organizer. She has spent the last 16 years in the practicum of holistic parenting and learning. In recent years, Ana Maria has been inspired by the work of Akila Richards, Maleeka Diggs and Pam Laricchia. In their wisdom she has found the guidance to delve even deeper into the deschooling process towards building and supporting a liberated life for herself and her loved ones. She welcomes you to connect with her with any questions, and is particularly interested in supporting LatinX folks who are wanting to join this path.
Ana Maria considers herself a lucky member of the Unschooling Squad, a book club turned support group of unschooling warrior mamas in North NJ.

Unschooling Squad Book Club / Support Group Reading List
Lisa Guillard has gathered this list of resources for anyone interested in learning more. Use discernment as you read. Not all the books that we have read as a group are necessarily recommended for a brand-new-to-unschooling person because many of them have some language and attitudes that are perhaps antithetical to relinquishing control and building trust. As Lisa has listed them, the books that we feel really good about recommending are at the top and the other books that we read are below that. She has also added some books to recommend which we haven’t read together, yet. Feel free to use these resources or not.
