JOYSPRING ONLINE FAMILY FESTIVAL

RESOURCES AND SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES IN QUARANTINE

Originally planned as an outdoor family-friendly retreat for all ages, self-organized learning environment and curated unconference, this online festival of resources and support for families in quarantine is still intentionally centered in our indigenous and ancestral roots, to share ways we are clearing, exploring and living pathways to sustain joyful liberation on the planet, in our community and in our being-body.

This meeting space at the crossroads between where we have come from and the holistic vision we are evolving toward, is for the children we share our lives with, for our family, for our selves, for our community, for all of life in this still beautiful world.

May we collectively envision, embody and build a caregiving global community for the earth and for future generations.

You, your family and your friends, are all invited to play and collaborate together to support this mission and manifest this vision.

Mission

  • To respect young people as whole persons; to open our hearts with radical empathy to continually honor and live in harmony with life.
  • To come together to share the ways we liberate life; to co-create, visualize, embody and hold sacred space for our selves and our families; to expand our parenting experience into an even deeper holistic awareness to include the lands we inhabit; to learn and weave into the world more loving pathways for a joyful liberation of our nature.
  • To co-create a "seedbed" sanctuary space for nature and our life outside the matrix; to ignite, nurture and nourish the pulse of life within every cell, to deepen our individual and community unschooling journey; to evolve a thriving global culture of reverence for life as we all reconnect with the consciousness of our indigenous and ancient ancestral roots.
  • To be a transformative playful living space for us all; for people of American Indigenous origin, of African ancestry, of pre-patriarchal European descent, of Celtic and Druid lineages, of people descended from Siberia, of Asian indigenous origins ... for all our relations from all the world over.

Let this be a joyous space where we keep the magic alive, for our "unschooling" or "self-directed education" families and for all our friends interested in actively co-creating and living within a world that honors the light within all life. Let us thrive in joy with the integrity of our living and most distant indigenous ancestors who embrace the medicine of the elements and weave magic with harmony in community. Let us learn by remembering joy and using that life-affirming energy as a springboard for our evolution in love.

Vision

See ourselves part of a living evolutionary tapestry. Let us weave and share our family stories in communion with the wild and wise innocence of the children we share our lives with.

Co-creatively imagine a place in time where our community and family circles overlap and meet to trade tools, resources and ways, as the ancestors of this land did. Visualize communities re/uniting to transmute the outdated structures of separation, to recapitulate the holistic new/old ways we are calling into being. Foresee the medicinal effect this sharing has for the ancestors, for ourselves, and the children - for all generations past, present and future.

As we can ride the edge of the wave between where we have been and were we are evolving toward, surfing each emerging pathway, we learn how to live in community in a good way, empowered and conscious, in sacred right relationship with life. Centered within our selves and others, attuned to the needs of this planet and all of her children.

We can get off the treadmill to slow down and create the time to revere and honor each rite of passage our children are journeying through, and which life offers each of us as individuals, partners, parents and friends. Let us support each other to travel even the turbulence with laughter and dance through each hoop!

Through this uplifting collaborative vision quest, may we all find our purpose to help manifest a world where -no matter our pronouns nor how many generations far removed from our deeply embedded indigenous roots- we all thrive and shine the light of our ancestral ways of being in right relationship with each other; where all the myriad ancient and living indigenous ways on Earth are celebrated, valued, honored and re-membered and lived with a joyful humble loving heart, for the good of all.

Play! Inspire! Celebrate!

May the fertile seedbed for this curated self-directed "un" conference be a container for uplifting self-directed content and fun events that parents and children are desiring and willing to share in community.

Being rooted in nature, and appreciating that some of us thrive in less sensorily active gathering spaces, there will also be designated quiet and meditative play spaces for centering, reflection, integration and grounding connection to the elements, self and others.

There will be ample joyful opportunities to play freely, learn and collaborate. A mission-themed event will be presented each day without conflicting conference scheduling while family-fun activities and other empowering mission-aligned experiences will be sprinkled plentifully throughout each day.
