The first nights of her new existence horrified her. She could feel an unbearable hunger clawing at her insides, a craving that overwhelmed every human instinct she once had. Milica desperately resisted killing anyone for several days, trying to survive through sheer willpower alone. Eventually, starvation drove her into a frenzy, and she attacked a traveler late at night.

To her own shock, she enjoyed it.
