Taskforce Barak is a specialized strike and recon unit deployed by the Joke Comic League for missions that don’t require direct intervention from superpowered heroes. Named after the ancient Hebrew military commander Barak, known for his decisive victories against overwhelming odds, the unit serves as a capable and loyal extension of the League’s global presence.

Operating under direct authorization from JCL Headquarters and dispatched through JCL Embassies worldwide, Taskforce Barak is often tasked with handling threats that are beneath the League’s cosmic paygrade but still too dangerous for conventional law enforcement. These include cultist raids, black-market artifact recoveries, political extractions, rogue tech cleanup, and hostile metahuman containment in remote areas.

Comprised of elite human operatives with advanced tactical training, cutting-edge gear, and deep knowledge of global supernatural threats, Taskforce Barak acts with precision and discretion. Though they do not possess powers themselves, they are trained to combat those who do—with a strict emphasis on teamwork, faith, and duty. Many members have backgrounds in Mossad, Shin Bet, Interpol, and former JCL side branches.

They are the first line of defense when the heroes are off-world, underground, or occupied by multiversal chaos. When the JCL can’t be everywhere at once, Taskforce Barak ensures that evil never rests easy.
