ARCHIVAL DESCRIPTION — FILE RECOVERED, CONDITION DEGRADED

This surviving illustration is believed to be the last known depiction of the man publicly known only as “Superhero,” the United States’ first genetically injected superhuman, created in 1916 during the final years of World War I. The artwork was produced in 1966, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his creation and initial deployment. Official records long claimed that all anniversary materials were destroyed amid post-disappearance purges; however, this piece was secretly concealed and preserved, later recovered in a damaged state.

The drawing was created by an American civilian artist from Kansas, working independently and without official commission. Its existence possibly suggests a quiet act of reverence—or defiance—during a time when my friend's name was actively being erased from public celebration.
