Making milkshakes

May 8, 2018

In this milkshake making workshop ISY participants and staff had the chance to relax during AP exam week and just enjoy some milkshakes. First, Simon Weng and a handful of participants went to the nearby Whole Foods in order to gather ingredients and other snakes. They managed to get strawberries, bananas, mango juice, strawberry juice, ice cream, milk and even avocados. All these ingredients allowed the participants to experiment with their milkshake making skills. Making milkshakes from many different fruits and juices

After gathering the necessary ingredients ISY participants were allowed to make all different types of milkshakes. They had to cut up the fruits, making it small enough to go inside the blender. Then, they put the sliced fruits and juice into the blender and watched as they mixed into a delicious, refreshing milkshake. For example, the participants even got to make a milkshake with avocados. Participants agreed that milkshake had a very interesting taste, but was good nevertheless. The milkshakes were great, but the process was what made it even better. Participants were able to socialize and relieve stress as they endured a month filled with AP tests, SATs, and school.

This workshop allowed participants to relax and take a break. Juniors were getting ready for senior year and seniors were moving on to college. It was a much needed workshop for participants. It was the first milkshake making workshops and definitely needs to be revisited in the future.
