The 53rd annual CPC Lunar New Year GALA was held at Jing Fong Restaurant located on Elizabeth Street in Chinatown. The Gala helped fund raise $406,000 to support needed services for Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities. The money raised was a record breaker in terms of the annual CPC Lunar New Year Gala. This is a tradition CPC takes much pride in hosting.
Thanks to the contributions of many ,including our helpful ISY volunteers, the Gala was a success this year. Volunteers participated in tasks such as setting up before the dinner, cleaning up after the dinner, and even being ushers for arriving guest! The Gala wasn't only fun for the guests, since many ISY volunteers enjoyed it as well.
The Gala to many of the volunteers was a chance to appreciate the size and diversity of the CPC organization as a whole. From meeting new people to seeing familiar faces, ISY volunteers were allowed to see both supporters and members of the CPC family. The performances and entertainment were both amazing and brilliant. The people performing ranged from elementary school students to professionals. Overall, the annual Gala was such a one-of-a kind experience that not even words can give it justice!
