Isaiah 53:4-5
Isaiah teaches us about the Suffering Servant
4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed
Hundreds of years before He came to us, Isaiah writes about a Suffering Servant...Jesus is identified as that Servant...Jesus has taken up our illnesses...He carries our sorrows...He was crushed for our sins, not His...
Jesus was punished and His punishment brings us peace... Because by His wounds we are healed...God sent Him for us...The words of the Suffering Servant are verified in Jesus on the Cross...
