Isaiah 11:6-12
Knowledge of the LORD
6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.
10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. 11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.
12 He will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.
Isaiah writes about the Messiah...The Messiah is alive...He can to earth and was born and lived...He died on the cross and then was resurrected...He still lives after His resurrection...He changed the world when He came...He taught us and still teaches us what man "can be"...And some day, because our Messiah lives and loves us, He will return...When He does return the world, He will change the world (again) and we will live in peace and harmony....
Isaiah teaches us that one day the earth will be of full knowledge of the LORD...This will be a great day...Can we imagine a day when all things are in harmony?...On this day of harmony, the wolf will lay with the lamb, the goat will lie down with the goat, and the calf and the lion and the yearling will lie together and all will be have a child leading them...The natural instincts of the wolf, leopard, and lion not wanting to attack their predators for their next meal will be gone...The natural instincts of the lamb, the calf, and the yearling to avoid and to fear and to run from danger will also be gone...A little child will lead them...Things will be different...
Isaiah tells us even that a cow and a bear will be together...An ox and and a lion will eat straw together...An infant will play near the hole of a cobra, and the young child will put his hand in the viper's nest...Things will all be in harmony...Animals will neither harm nor destroy...This scene that Isaiah writes about shows us that nature has changed...In a sense it has been reborn into a peacefulness that we can only imagine...
The LORD says "Behold I make all things new." (Revelations 21:5)...In the latter days the animal world and all the world will be changed...Nature will be different...Man will be different...All will be different...Everything, or all things will be different and new...
Man greatest paradox is we want to be good, but we can't be good...We want to be perfect, we can't be perfect...We want to be holy, we can't be holy...We want to be just, we can't be just...We don't want to sin, but we sin...These great hopes are in our thoughts, but we just cannot quite get there by ourselves...Sin has flawed human kind...But Jesus came for sinners to help mankind (Mark 2:17)...He did not come to condemn us, but to save us...This is because God loves us...He will give us eternal life, if we believe in Him and the One He sent (John 3:16-17)...Our only hope for being good, being perfect, being holy, being just, and not sinning is with Jesus help...Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12)...
Everything will be new...Poverty, war, sickness, suffering, wickedness, and sin will be gone...We cannot do this on our own...We need the One who died for our sins...This will all happen when the Messiah returns...This will happen when the earth is full of the knowledge of the LORD...Our Great Shepherd will take care of His flock...When the world is full of the knowledge of the LORD, the world will then live by the Truth, and we will come into the Light...Then we will see that all truth, comes from the Light, and we will see plainly that the truth has came from God (John 3:21)...
On that day, the Great-Great Grandson of Jesse will assemble His flock from the four corners of the earth...Jesus will bring complete peace on earth...
