What is a home without Pokémon to share it with!
To obtain a Pokémon it must first be captured! To do so, the following requirements must be met:
Have the correct Pokeball:
All Pokémon from outbreaks, the mines, island caves or tourist spots are captured with a Pokeball. A Pokeball costs 2000 PD. This can be purchased in the same note as the capture.
Safari Balls cost 3000 PD. These are used for Pokemon currently in the Safari Zone. (outbreaks not included)
Have the mine level where the type of the Pokémon resides in unlocked, or traveled to the island location they are found in. If catching a dual type in the mines, both types of the Pokémon must be unlocked.
Most Pokémon can be unlocked via the Mines on Amusement Archipelago. You can see what types are unlocked per level on The Mines.
Alolan Pokémon are unlocked via either the Minior Mines on Snowfall Inlet, or the Comfey Caverns on Clamperl Cove; both located after Trail 3 on each island, respectively.
Galarian Pokémon are unlocked by visiting the Abandoned Factory located after Tourist Spot 3 in Cin City.
Hisuian and Paradox Pokémon are found past Level 5 of The Mines, in the Space-Time Catacombs.
Paldean Pokemon are found in Crystal Haven on Astray Isle, located after Area 3.
Ultra Beasts are caught using a Safari Ball, and must be interacted with twice. Two seperate submissions need to be made, even if going to the trails or mines where multiple trails can be made in one submission. They can be caught anywhere on the islands. Limit of 2 Ultra Beasts per resident.
As long as minimum requirments are met again, the two submissions needed can be combined into a single one (Example. A Comic or Collage with 2 Panels. Writing of 1000 words)
Only young Pokémon are docile enough to become pets. Which means only the first evolution of Pokémon can be captured! However, if you're using any items to evolve the Pokémon immediately, you may also include them in the capture note.
To Capture:
Draw or write about your character interacting positively with the Pokémon you would like. If your character has unlocked access to the Pokémon, you may depict catching your Pokémon anywhere.
At least flat colors and a background with a simple scene for visual pieces or around 500 words for a written piece.
To catch multiple Pokemon in the same submission, they need to be their own story/panel that meets the minimum requirements listed above.
Once the requirements are met, the final step is to send a note to the group with the following information: Name & gender of Pokémon, and a link to the capture piece once it has been accepted into the gallery.
***Pokémon that are caught with Pokeballs or adopted from the adoption center always go into a pet slot first, and may then be moved to other categories.
You can evolve a Pokémon by submitting stories or artwork of them, and tracking them here. To know what counts as an Evolution Point (sometimes called Heart Points), please read the following information:
Visual images should at least be lined and flat colored, while Pokémon in written submission should be featured in a story that is at least 500 words. This means they should be more than a sentence or two, usually at least a paragraph. Collaborations with other members also count towards this.
If you include a Pokemon on the application art of your character, this will count towards their Evolution Points.
The utility bonus of 1 additional Evolution Point will apply to any pokemon after the utilitymon is acquired and the slot is filled. This bonus is not retroactive.
Pictures of an Egg do not count as Evolution Points. These are used for hatching the egg only.
Pokémon that evolve with Evolutionary Stones do not need them to evolve. However, they can be used to skip the heart-requirement. A Rare Candy may also be used to skip the requirement for any Pokémon.
2-Stage Pokémon require 3 Evolution Points to reach their second form. (e.g. Blitzle > Zebstrika)
3-Stage Pokémon require 2 Evo-Points to reach their second form, and 4 Evo-Points total to reach their final form. (e.g. Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur)
As long as minimum requirments are met again, Multiple Evolution Points can be gained in the same submission. (Example. A Comic or Collage with 4 Panels meeting minimum will earn 4 Evolution Points. Writing of 1000 words would earn 2 Evolution Points). The Pokemon needs to be prominently featured to be eligible.
Some single stage Pokémon can earn “Mature” status upon earning 3 hearts: Farm Shuckle and Ranch Farfetch’d.
** When your Pokémon is ready to evolve, you can note the group with the Pokémon you'd like to evolve and provide the link to your Animal Tracker. **
**If the total number of points needed for the final stage have been acquired, or an item(s) is being used to skip a stage, only one note is required for a 3-stage Pokemon to go from base stage to final. (Ex: Pichu with 4 points can become a Raichu in one note. OR, Pichu with 2 points AND a rare candy/evo-stone can become a Raichu.) **
Alternative to capturing Pokémon, you may obtain one through the means of breeding!
A female can only breed once a month.
The 'baby' produced will be an egg that gets added into your inventory.
The egg will be the mother's species.
Pokémon do not have to be in the same category to breed. Meaning Pets can breed with Utility, or Ranch with Farm.
Visual pieces require at least flat colors and a background or around 500 words for a written piece.
Breeding Your Own Pokémon
To breed two of your own Pokémon you will need:
One male and one female Pokémon of the same egg group.
Create a piece of these two Pokémon bonding.
Note the group with a link to the submission!
Breeding with Another's Pokémon
To breed with another member's Pokémon you will need:
One male and one female Pokémon of the same egg group.
It should either be a collaborative piece, or two separate pieces.
Note the group with a link to the submission(s) and mention who will be receiving the egg!
*Fossil pokemon cannot breed.
So you have a Hatchable Egg! What do you do with it now?
Two submissions are required. The first submission must show your character caring for the egg. They must be present in this image.
If the Egg you have was aquired through an event, those will always hatch in 1 Submission!
The second submission must show the egg hatching (either as a Pokémon surrounded by broken shells, half in the egg, or an egg with hatching cracks).
If it is visual art, it should be (at least) flat colors with a simple scene. If it is a written submission, it should be at least 500 words.
As long as minimum requirments are met again, the two submissions needed can be combined into a single one (Example. A Comic or Collage with 2 Panels. Writing of 1000 words)
Once you have done that, send a note to the group to inform us that the egg has been hatched. Include a link to your two submissions and the name, Pokémon, and gender of the Pokémon being hatched in this note.
Eggs hatched into pet, ranch, and farm slots have no fees, given a slot is available.
Eggs can be hatched into mount and utility slots, but their training or additional slots must be purchased beforehand.
Eggs cannot be hatched into business slots, as business assistants have to be registered.
The only exception is if you submit the business assistant form alongside the hatch link in your note, with the understanding that this could take a bit longer for the hatching to go through as mods review the business assistant application.
Eggs have a 10 in 100 chance of being shiny! You can request Mods to roll this chance after you send a note about hatching the egg (with both links) and let you know!
A new Hatchery has also opened its doors on Raccolto! You can hatch your Eggs for PD.
More informations and the cooldown list can be found HERE.
Nincada
When Nincada evolves, if you have an additional or empty pet slot, they will evolve into a Ninjask AND a Shedinja!
You have the option to pick either of the two possible evolutions to be added, instead of both. So, if you prefer to have your Nincada evolve only into Shedinja then that is possible.
If you've found a fossil from the mines, you can revive them into a Pokémon.
Send a note to the group with the Pokémon, name, and gender of your new friend.
Galarian Fossilmon need both fossil components to be revived.
Reviving a Fossilmon into a pet slot is free. Mount and utility training must be purchased before a Pokemon may be revived into them.
Fossilmon may not be revived into business slots, as business assistants have to be registered.
Sometimes members who no longer feel that spark with a Pokémon may put them up for adoption for free in the Adoption Center, which is found under #safari-zone on discord. Other members can then adopt those Pokémon for their own!
However, one can also choose to release their Pokémon into the wild instead, which requires a fee of 250 PD.
To adopt a Pokémon you will need to do the following:
Have an open pet slot*
Pay a fee of 250 PD
Comment on the adoption center thread in #safari-zone.
Pokemon may be traded and gifted between members, or between one's own residents. You can freely trade most Pokémon at no cost. This is true for when you gift or trade with a different member, or between your own characters. To give a Pokémon to another person, the receiving member must have a slot for the Pokémon. Fees will arrise when trading a Non-Mount into a Mount slot and a Non-Utility Mon into a Utility Slot as those two cases require training fees.
While trading into a Business Assistant Slot costs no fee (when traded between members or characters), the Business Assistant still needs either their two training submissions or the 150 word blurb about why they would make a good Assistant.
If trading Pokemon that are not categorized the same way, the following fee will apply:
Trading to a Mount Slot - 2,000 PD
Trading to a Utility Slot - 3,000 PD
If you were to trade a Mount into a Mount slot, or a Utility Mon into a Utility Slot (between you and another member or between your characters) there would be no additional fee as the Pokemon has already completed their training.
If you are gifting a Pokémon but the recipient is paying the transfer fees, both parties must send in a note. If the gifter is paying the fees, only they need to send in a note.
Each property (every farm, ranch, or store) comes with a Pokémon. When creating an application, a starter must be a first stage or non evolving Pokemon. These CAN include fossil Pokemon without a need to use an item for their revival. These CANNOT be legendary or mythical. They may be Ultra Beasts or Paradoxmon if an item is used on a Starter Pokémon later.
While it is mandatory a starter Pokémon be chosen, your character does not have to adopt this stray Pokémon. However, it will roam about the property no matter what your character does. If they do not adopt the starter Pokémon, the Pokémon name should be listed as "Stray".
The starter Pokémon does not count to the pet limit of the home. One may abandon or move their pet, however the slot will remain permanently vacant as a Pokémon cannot be moved or traded to the starter slot.
To change any of your Pokemons (including mPC pets) into another, there is an item called a Magic shampoo!
Pets are companion Pokémon to your resident. They can participate in the annual Pet festival!
Initially, the amount of pets your resident can have is linked to the house size, up to 6 Pokémon, excluding of the starter.
Basic Home -- 2 Pets
Medium Home -- 4 Pets
Large Home -- 6 Pets
Mansion -- 8 Pets
Additional pet slots may be obtained via bonus slots. Some Pokémon during events may even come with their own pet slots. Two bonus slots are available:
Utility Pokémon bonus pet slot
Divine Spring Donations bonus pet slot
A special pet slot may be obtained with the purchase of Vacation Homes upgrades. Pokémon can be freely traded in and out of this or any bonus slot!
Pet Pastures provide extra room where a house cannot:
Pet Pasture Spots may be purchased for 3,000 PD
Multiple slots can be purchased in one note and will be tracked on resident inventory sheets.
Each character may have up to 21 pets, including ones gained from upgrades, Pet Pasture Spots and those available to be put into the event pet slot. For clarification, the Event Slot should be treated as emergency slot when no additional slots are available to house an event Mon. As long as a Pokemon has been obtained through an event, it can be swapped in or out of the event slot.
Want a little corner of your home to relax in and away from work? Then consider purchasing a utility space! There are three types of utility spaces to choose from:
Gardens - A cozy flowerbed wafting with calming aroma. Attracts Grass-types, Bug-types, and Fairy-types to nestle in.
Kitchens - A simple facility to cook easy meals. The culinary energy draws in Fire-types, Electric-types, and Steel-types!
Fountains - Decorative ornaments that flow soothing water. Water-types, Flying-types, & Rock-types love the decor.
These are separate from Pet Pokémon and only Pokémon that match the utility space can be chosen to fill the slot at purchase. They do not require capture first (with exceptions listed below) but DO require a Training Fee to be paid to properly do their job. If you are moving a pet Pokémon to the utility slot, the utility Pokémon Training Fee must still be paid.
Having a Utility Pokémon in a slot unlocks a small, permanent effect for your character. The slots are permanent, and if you want to change utility Pokémon, the Training Fee needs to be paid again. Moving a Utility Pokémon to another slot will require that slot's moving fee.
Each Home comes with three Utility slots, a fourth slot can be aquired by upgrading your character's home to Family size. a 5th Slot can be aquired by upgrading your character's Vaction Home.
Utility Pokémon Training Fee -- 3,000 PD per individual Pokémon
The benefit is only unlocked if a Pokémon is filling the slot. You cannot skip a slot to get the benefit from the next. Benefits MUST be mentioned in the submission description or note in order to be applied.
First Utility Pokémon – All job and home expansions have a 250 PD discount. Additional properties (ex. lucky cat statuette, etc.) do not apply.
Second Utility Pokémon – Pokémon earn two hearts per image they're depicted in, instead of just one. Your Pokémon grow that much faster!
Third Utility Pokémon – An additional pet slot is available. Pokémon may be freely traded in an out of this slot as you please.
Fourth Utility Pokémon – All work images will receive double produce.
Fifth Utility Pokémon* - Hatches eggs in one submission.
*5th utility slots can only be obtained through vacation home purchases!
Legendaries and Mythicals are not available. Additionally, Fossil Pokemon, Paradox Pokemon, and Ultra Beasts are not eligible to be purchased with the Utility'mon slot. Otherwise, all first-evolution Grass-type, Fire-type, or Water-type Pokémon are fair game (single or dual typing).
If you acquire a specific-typed Pokémon from the exception list, you can pay to have it moved to a Utility Pokémon slot if one was not pre-purchased.
Ex. You found a fossil and it was revived into Lileep. You can then move it to a Garden Utility slot!
Ex 2. You've traveled all levels of the Mines, and captured a Xurkitree! Xurkitree may then be moved into a Kitchen Utility Slot.
Mounts are Pokémon used for transportation. There are three types of mounts available to choose from: Land, Surf, and Flying. A character can have one of each, or 3 the same, or mix them however you want! 2 Land and 1 Surf, is all perfectly acceptable.
Our minimum size and weight requirements for mounts are: Over 5 feet tall and over 100lbs heavy. All Pokemon who meet these requirements are accepted as mounts (more detailed lists below)
With our free +20% size modding there are a few exeptions that will be accepted as mounts but MUST be depicted as larger than standard size. (The size/weight minimum for smaller than normal Pokemon is 4'5'' feet and 83 lbs.)
All Gmax Pokemon will be accepted as mounts, regardless if they are an evolved form or not, but must be depicted as at least 5 feet of height or larger.
Mounts can also be used to race in the annual Sprout Cup (pre-evolved land mounts)/Blossom Cup (fully evolved land mounts) and Juniper Derby (fully evolved surf/flying). For mounts that have gigantamax or mega options, only the listed form is permitted to be a mount.
There are some exeptions in Pokemon who gained evolutions later, they can also be used to race despite not being considered fully evolved, examples of this are Onix and Bisharp. Some Pokemon will also need to be modded +20%, they will be marked on the lists with a % after their name.
Mounts can be purchased for -- 4,000PD
Most regular mounts can be claimed in the purchase note so when buying please choose a species, gender, and name for your new buddy!
Mount pokemon are sold at their first stage of evolution.
Fossil mounts must be revived, you will need to own the correct fossil instead of being bought directly.
UB and Paradox Mounts need to be unlocked wth a Vacation Home Upgrade They cannot be bought directly and need to be caught.
Hatching an egg into a mount slot costs only 2,000pd due to training the newly hatched pokemon.
Characters start with 2 slots. A third slot can be acquired by upgrading any of their Jobs to Large.
** If you would like to depict your character using a Pokémon as a mount that is not on the following lists, you are more than welcome to! The only difference would be the chosen Pokémon not being eligible for the races, as well as the Pokémon remaining in a non-mount slot. However, for headcanon/non-mechanic purposes, this is more than fine! **
Pokemon F.A.Q
Can I headcanon that an Egg I got was hatched in the past?
Eggs can be hatched in flashbacks under the premise that the hatched Pokemon lived with someone else until your character could retrieve them
My character owned a few Pokemon in their past, can I depict my character reuniting with them for my catching submission?
Yes! Despite not depicting the catching process, a Pokeball (and Rare Cadneis if this is about evolved Mon) is still required! If your trainer had a Nincade/Ninjask, you only need to use one Pokeball + 1 Rare Candy to get both.
Can a male pokemon appear with the characteristics of a female equivalent or vice-verses?
Pokemon that are genderlocked should the pokemon have gender exclusive designs, such as the Unfezant’s and Jellicents CAN NOT appear with the opposite gender characteristics. That is something exclusive for Gijinka's!
Can my pokemon have spots/stripes without the use of an item?
Possibly. We would ask that you note us with a design to be sure, but simple adjustments, like a small scar are okay.
Can I change the size of my Pokemon?
Yeah! You can have a Pokemon be 20% larger or 20% smaller than their standard size without the use of an item. If you would like to change the size beyond that, please refer to the Modding Pokemon Page! Multiply or Divide by 1.20 (for 20%, 1.07 for 7% etc.) to check the possible sizes.
Can I change a part of a pokemon's design without the use of any item?
The only time we allow a large cosmetic change would be in the instance of a non-biological item to be changed. Examples of this are Happiny’s egg, Thwackey’s stick and Farfetch’d’s reed. This is not a complete list. As always, if you are unsure, please reach out in a note with your possible design.
Please see Modding Pokemon for more information!
I don't like the base and shiny colors for my Pet Pokemon from the newer generations, can I base the colors off of older generationsinstead?
Yes! Pokemon can be depicted as any of the color variations present in any of the OFFICIAL games (except the Sprites of the first and second generation of games due to the hardware limitations, you are allowed to base it off of official artwork, just nor the sprites), this includes mainline games as well as spin offs like pokemon stadium. This also counts for their shiny counterparts. What does this mean: If you do not like the green of Shiny Espeon in newer generations, you can also base YOUR shiny Espeon off of the minty green of Pokemon Stadium 2's. Due to the sheer amount of extreme color variants in Pokemon Stadium, the mod team will judge proposed colors on an individual basis. Please send the team a note if you plan to use Pokemon Stadium color variations!
Can I use an item during the approval process on my starter pokemon?
Yes. You just need to specify in your resident application note that you will be doing this and have the needed Dye Kit, Lens, stamp, etc, in your inventory upon acceptance.
What do I need to do to remove a special status (shiny, mega, gmax) of my Pokemon?
Simply send us a note! This doesn't cost an item, we just need to know!
Are there limits to how many special form mons a member/character can have?
The only current limit for character Pokemon is that a character can only have 2 Paradox mon & 2 Ultra Beasts. There is no limit to the amount of Mega and Gmax Pokemon a character can have.
Can Pokémon have telepathic abilities?
Psychic based Pokemon who are known for communicating telepathically with humans in ways can exist. You could have the Pokemon send pictures, emotions, a "pull into a direction" type of thing. The type of communicating is considered headcannon.
Can a Pokemon like Revavroom be depicted as mounting and controlling vehicles?
Yes!
Can Rotom possess other objects than it's canon forms?
Yes! However, unless it is a canon form it cannot do so permanently. If you would like to have it permanently possess another kind of device, you will need a Modding Item! Please send us a note for the design you want to use and we can tell you what Item you need!
Are there any rules for Dittos, esspecially modded Dittos?
Regular Dittos have no specific rules at this time. While modded Dittos are restricted to only be able to transform into their owner, and the Pokemon in the owners inventory. In turn, you do not need to send in design checks for every single form, as long as you stick to the modded colors.
I missed the Shadow Pokemon event! Can I still get one?
Yes! By using a Shadow Orb, you may turn one of your Pokemon into a Shadow version.
A morbid question but can other Pokemon or my character eat wild Pokemon?
Yes with restrictions, if you are depicting the meat as featureless (as in, you cannot make out what kind of Pokemon it was) this is fine. If it has any discernable traits we ask that a warning or spoiler tag will be provided for people who are uncomfortable.
If I trade or get rid of a Utilitymon, do I have to repurchase a slot again?
No! They are all permanent, but the Training Fee needs to be paid for new Pokémon.
Can I purchase the fourth Utilitymon slot without filling the slot?
Yes, you can send another note at a later time to fill the slot. The bonus will not take effect until the slot is filled though.
Can I have a mix of Garden, Kitchen, and Fountain Utilitymon?
No, Pokemon can only have the type associated to their chosen utility space. However, as an example, if a Water-type also shared the Grass-typing, then they can be applied to either Fountains or Gardens.
