NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS
NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS
NPC’s are typically flat, supporting characters who are there to put emphasis on your own character. The history should only hold information that relates to your main character. Parents, bosses, employees, siblings, etc. are all examples of the relationships your NPC’s might have with your character. The NPC is a background character!
It should not seem like a second character, but a supporting character:
Appearances should follow group gijinka rules and not be excessively Pokémon, but 25%.
NPCs can be turned Shiny, into a Merfolk, into a UB or Paradox pokemon via the use of a Pretty Feather (found on Lilith's Crafting sheet). NPcs can Awakend their Aspect, turn into a Mega or Gmax via the use of a Common Feather (also found on Lilith's Crafting Sheet). If the NPC would later be turned into a Full Player Character the respective items are still necessary (MerOrb for a Merfolk NPC, Mega Stone for a Mega NPC etc.). If you have used a Feather Item, the NPC will receive a Discount on the Full Item related to the crafting cost of the Feather (more infos on Lilith's Crafting Sheet).
The Aspect of NPCs can be changed if the Player Character they belong with aquires a mask for them.
History and Personality sections of NPC applications are encouraged to be concise and minimally detailed. They should also be geared towards their involvement or relationship with the character they are there to support rather than an exposition on their own experiences & flaws etc. like in character applications.
NPC's may be submitted to the Member NPC's folder on either the main resident app or the NPC app.
In the description below your visual application or written description of the NPC, please add these infos. You can add more if you like! Unlike Player Characters, NPCs do not have a minimum length for personality or history.
Name: Your character's name. In other words, what they introduce themselves as.
Age: How many years has your character lived?
Date of Birth: The date your character was born.
Gender: Is your character male? Female? Non-binary?
Pokémon: The Pokémon species your gijinka is.
Relation to Main Character: Sister? Father? Best friend since school? Frienemy? Just an enemy? Tell us!
Personality: What does your character act like? Are they angry or calm? Hasty or relaxed?
History: An NPCs history should focus on how they came to know and keep interacting with their Player Character! Please write the history in full sentences.
Fun Facts: Any fun tidbits you'd like us to know about your character that don't fit anywhere else!
In addition to character creation rules, please be sure to also pay mind to the rules below.
NPC living with your character part time:
- If younger than 14, an image of their guardian should be on the app. Guardians cannot be your character.
- If younger than 14 and living with your character full time, the guardian must appear in about 2/3's of art work involving the young NPC.
- If older than 14, no guardian image is needed.
NPC working for your character:
- NPC should be 15 or older.
NPC that is your character's child in application history:
- Please discuss with moderators by sending a note into the group.
When are NPC apps needed?
- An NPC does not need an visual/written application unless they have been in artwork submitted to the group more than two times. However, you are welcome to produce an NPC application before this! There is no limit on the amount of NPC's you may have, but please keep it manageable and relevant to the character they support.
Shared NPC's:
- Characters owned by different members (for example, siblings) may choose to submit an NPC shared by both characters. While allowed, the group is not responsible for any ownership disputes arising from shared NPC's and members are expected to resolve the matter among themselves.
- Shared NPC's should not be exploited to circumvent existing group mechanics (such as a child of two Player Characters).
Will progress with a NPC transfer if they become an actual resident in the future?
No. Any progress they may have made would not transfer should they become a full resident. They would start fresh at the beginning with trails, mines and etc. Friendships will of course transfer!
The member who played the sibling of my character left the group, but I would still like to use the sibling on my own, do they need an NPC app?
Yes! As they are not a player character anymore they need an NPC app. Also PLEASE ask the other person for permission before you do this! Please note us proof of the permission, or preferably ask the other person to note us themselves confirming you can use their character as NPC.
