BUSINESSES
BUSINESSES
It may seem a little boring to draw your character standing in their shop all over again but let your creativity flow! There are more facets to owning a business than what meets the eye. How about redesigning the interior of their shop or cleaning the whole place? Or maybe a customer needs some assistance? If you have a shop assistant, they could bond with them as well. Don't limit yourself to drawing the same kind of pictures again and again. If business assistants are included in the picture, it counts towards their produce as well.
Work must be at least flat colors with a simple scene or around 500 words with your resident included. RP logs will only earn work rewards for the submitter.
If you were to do a comic you would gain Work Items for every panel that meets minimum requirements. If you were to do writing, you would gain one item every 500 words. If you were to do a RP, the Business Owner would receive Work Items for every 250 words per Participant (example, every 500 words for 2 people, every 750 words for 3 people, 1000 words for 4 people and so on.).
Pokemon need to be evenly featured in writing/RPs to produce Work Items (mentioning your Business Assistant in a single sentence for a 5000 words submission will not get you more than 1 Coin Roll.)
RPs can count toward work pieces, but only the member who is involved with the job can submit and earn produce for the work piece. Both members will still earn PD for the roleplay.
One benefit of marriage is the allowance of collaboration on work-related pieces. However, only one member of the couple will get the work produce. (ex. Spouse A owns a farm, Spouse B owns a ranch. Spouse A makes a sketch of their strawberries, Spouse B colors the sketch. Spouse A would submit the piece because they own the farm, and Spouse A would get the strawberries.)

Work submissions are submitted using our submission form. Be sure to mark all applicable bonuses to ensure you receive the correct produce for your hard work!
Business people can own their own store or work under an NPC of your own creation. Raccolto is a hub town and while business owners may open up a shop in town, it is always helpful to have some businesses closer to your neighbors! A Business upgrade will increase the size of your store, and the quality of your stock. So, no supermarkets if you're at basic-- you're starting out with the barest bit you can work with.
Basic (earns Old Register, default size for Business people) -- Small establishment with little room for equipment. No back room. Can hold only 5 customers at a time. Up to 1 business helpers available.
Medium (earns New Register) -- Can hold a few pieces of equipment and may have room for small décor. Stock is limited-- no room for storage. No outdoor landscaping. Can hold 10 customers at a time. Up to 2 business helpers available.
Large (earns Shiny Register) -- Can hold a satisfactory amount of equipment and may start become appealing. A small back room is available. There is now room for extra stock. Flowers may be planted outside. Can hold up to 15 customers at a time. Tip Jar is available allowing resident cameos to earn up to 10 extra coin rolls. RP Logs with up to 3 members are eligible for rewards. Up to 3 business helpers available.
Extra Large (earns Expensive Register) -- Enough space for all your equipment needs. Decorations start becoming priority. Your back room is extended. Priority delivery is now available; stock is much expanded. Shrubs may be planted outside. Up to 20 customers. RP Logs with up to 4 members are eligible for rewards. Up to 5 business helpers available.
Luxury (earns Luxury Register) -- As desirable as you can get. You can hold as many decorations as you wish. Your backroom is now in two sections. Amazing selection of products. Trees and water features can be added to the landscaping. Up to 30 customers. RP Logs with up to 6 members are eligible for rewards. Up to 7 business helpers available.
Pokémon becoming business assistants must be filed with the Mayor's Office and a fee should be paid for their official license and training. Your character must interact with them in business-related art to obtain a Small Coin Roll. With Upgrades (seen under Business Properties) Business Assistants will be able to produce Large Coin Rolls and Gigantic Coin Rolls.
Business Assistants can be purchased outright in their base form. This requires a fee of 2,000pd. If a resident would like to work with one of their Pokemon or hatch an egg into this work slot, they are only required to pay 1,000pd for the licensing fees. The training montage (how your character gets the Pokemon settled into the job) or written application below is still required, but the Pokemon does not have to be a base form (unless just hatched from an egg).
Business Assistants can be aquired in two ways.
Draw or write two submissions about how your character gets the Pokemon settled with the Job: Visuals should be Flat Colors and a Simple Scene, Writing should be 500 words prominently featuring the Pokemon and their owner. During this settling process the to-be Business Assistant will not earn Coin Rolls.
As long as minimum requirments are met again, the two submissions needed can be combined into a single one (Example. A Comic or Collage with 2 Panels. Writing of 1000 words)
Submit a note with an Application Form for the Pokemon meant to be a Business Assistant. The Application needs to be 150 words long at minimum.
Please be sure you have chosen your Pokemon wisely for this. If they do not meet proper safety protocols, or seem to be useful for your job, they may be denied!
Please send Application Form below or the training montage (gettig the Pokemon settled in the job) submissions along with the request via a communication note (if the Pokemon is specifically purchased for the Job, please list Pokemon - Name - Gender):

Reason this Pokémon would be a good Business Assistant (at least 150 words):
Out in the world are incredibly rare and powerful creatures that are vicious as they are special. But there are business owners who are either woefully foolhardy or entrepreneurial geniuses that can make use of their destructive capabilities. Arrokuda Acquisitions supposedly found instructors to make it possible...
CANNOT be purchased! Two species limit applies to both pets AND workmon!
Now, your character gets to start out with a basic home and a basic business. But don’t you want more for your character? Here is a list of things you can buy!
Please note, all upgrades build on top of the other: That is, you can’t buy a Large Business without first having paid for a Medium Business.
To buy something, send a note to the group. Make sure to tell us what you want to buy and your character's name. If you have enough PD, it will be added to your character's inventory. When purchasing a Pokemon, please give it a name and a gender.
Medium Business Upgrade --1,000 (10-Person Occupancy & up to 2 Business Assistant Slot)
Large Business Upgrade -- 3,000 (15 Person Occupancy & up to 3 Business Assistant Slots)
Extra Large Business Upgrade -- 5,000 (20 Person Occupancy & up to 5 Business Assistant Slots)
Luxury Business Upgrade -- 10,000 (30 Person Occupancy & up to 7 Business Assistant Slots)
The tip jar comes automatically with every business. With this bonus, you will earn an extra coin roll for each Resident or mPC you cameo in your work image. Only residents and children owned by other members will count. Your own characters and children do not provide coin rolls. Additionally, mPCs must be 14 or older to earn the bonus without parent supervision, excluding child-based businesses (schools, lessons, daycare, etc.). NPCs do not earn coin rolls. A maximum of 10 coin rolls may be earned in any one submission from cameos.
2,000 pd each if purchased outright
1,000 pd to transfer a pet into a slot
-- Business Assistants can only work in one business. You may depict business assistants from business 1 in the work piece of business 2, but the assistants from business 1 do not contribute any coin rolls.
Assistant Promotion -- 1000 PD (promotes Business Assistant to earn Large Coin Rolls)
VIP Board -- 1500 (Boosts a single PRO Workmon's produce to a Gigantic Coin Roll)
Market Cart -- 2500 (Permanently earns you +1 Register)
Lucky Cat Statuette -- 2500 -- Gain a Gigantic Coin Roll when featured in work submission (design is up for interpretation)
Billboard -- Event Item (Can also be purchased with Community Points) -- Gain a Diamond Register
Second Career (Basic Farm, Basic Ranch, Basic Business) -- 5000
Third Career (Basic Farm, Basic Ranch, Basic Business) -- 20,000
-- To buy a second career path your character must already have upgraded their Business to Large.
-- To buy a third career path your character must already have their second job upgraded to Large.
-- Each career path can purchase additional properties. Properties cannot be shared, even if they are for the same job-type.
* Exceptions are the Stable, Flower Garden, and Event Only Properties.
Does a resident’s business need to be placed on their home plot?
No! Your resident is able to have their business on their home plot or they may be able to claim they are located on the main island of Raccolto. This is all about preference. Please note, that they can not be placed on one of the trail islands.
How do you decide on the stock type for certain businesses?
Your stock type can be anything that would make sense for your business (this is more used for rping and headcanoning.) For example, a handyman would stock their particular services. Be sure to leave room for adjustments as your business grows in skills.
Can I have this business? Someone already has a "… " can I have one too?
Of course. We hardly limit business, the exception being inappropriate businesses for the PG-13 rating we have. And there is not max on a certain business, go for it. If you have concerns or questions about a specific business, reach out in the questions chat on discord.
If I am role playing with someone and we both have a business that is actively being featured in the RP, are we both able to get our business products?
In this particular case, possibly. You would need to break the submission into two separate submissions parts. The first part would be submitted by the business owner represented. The second part will be submitted by the second person. Each submission would need to follow the normal RP submission rules, business featured and word count met.
Have a question about Businesses? Ask in the Questions chat, and we will add the information to the page.
