MiniPlayer-Characters
MiniPlayer-Characters
All children of PCs are considered mPCs (mini Player Character). This means they are an extension of your character, so they can be present far more often than NPC characters. Character children may be viewed on the Marriage Record tab of the Inventory or in the 'm-npcs' forum channel on discord.
Now, while they are playable characters, remember they are young! Try to avoid allowing your three year old to toddle off to town on their own!
Children can also accompany you to work, into caverns, and in trails! But they always need their parent around for these activities.
They also get their own personalized app sheet! Unlike NPC's, young mPC's do not need to be drawn with their parent on their app.
Be featured in work pieces as cameos. Children who are 14 and older can earn cameo rolls without a parent present. Children who are younger than 14 may earn cameo coin rolls if the business is child-based (schools/lessons/daycare, etc) or if their parent is present with them.
They can join chat events and role plays, as well as be present in several artworks including those for non-competitive events, work images as well as mine and hiking exploration. All children should be accompanied by an adult in reward-earning submissions, whether their parent(s) or other residents they may know (not NPC's). Please note that children may not earn trail or mine rewards for their parent.
Island Competition: Can earn points for home island in lieu of their parent in non-competitive events.
Cirque De La Lune: Children may participate in circus activities and earn tickets in lieu of their parent. The parents may choose the Aspects they change to, or request that they be rolled as with NPC's.
mPCs can be turned Shiny, into a Merfolk, into a UB or Paradox pokemon via the use of a Pretty Feather (found on Lilith's Crafting sheet). mPCs can Awakend their Aspect, turn into a Mega or Gmax via the use of a Common Feather (also found on Lilith's Crafting Sheet). If the mPC would later be turned into a Full Player Character the respective items are still necessary (MerOrb for a Merfolk NPC, Mega Stone for a Mega NPC etc.). If you have used a Feather Item, the mPC will receive a Discount on the Full Item related to the crafting cost of the Feather (more infos on Lilith's Crafting Sheet).
Unlike NPCs they can also undergo the Journey of Awakening if they are guided/helped by a parent to Awaked their Aspect.
If multiple members have ownership of an mPC they are allowed to collab on the Awakening Journey (whether that is by rotating who submits or actively collaborating on all three submissions)
The Aspect of mPCs can be changed if their parent/s aquire a mask for them.
While they need to be born as a first stage Pokemon, they are allowed to evolve as they become older!
Children before the age of 8 years can be magically aged up, once per month. These age skips are not monitored but should be within reason, do not have your toddler of 1 be 8 years old in just two months!
You're never too young to own your first Pokémon! This means even your one year old child may have a Pokémon pet of their own. Yes, children get their own pets separate from mommy and daddy's inventories! You can see what pet children have acquired on the Marriage Record tab of the Inventories.
There is no fee! So note the group with what Pokémon you'd like your child to have!
However, be aware there are limitations.
You can only ever have one Pokémon for each child.
It cannot be changed for a different Pokémon unless a Magic Shampoo is used.
The Pokémon will also never evolve. It will always be its most basic evolution. So please choose wisely!
Paradox Pokemon are too powerful for children and are NOT an option as a companion.
To raise children, the single parent must own a Family Home and can have up to as many children as they like!
Single parent merfolk can only adopt water-type children, as they are deemed best suited to live alongside merpeople! The child can be a merfolk or a land dweller.
A Pretty Feather or Common Feather maybe be used on Children to change them into Merfolk, Megas, Gmax etc.
A couple must wait till at least one week after their marriage to begin the process of acquiring a child.
A couple may have a maximum of four children if a single parent owns a Family Home.
Couples may have unlimited children when all participants of the relationship own a Family Home.
A Pretty Feather or Common Feather maybe be used on Children to change them into Merfolk, Megas, Gmax etc.
Note to people with work in progress Self Awareness Journeys:
While the Self Awareness Journey got the axe, your progress is not lost! If you have submitted one submission already, this counts as one of two pieces necessary for adoption/ birth. If you have submitted two or more pieces already, that means you have completed the preparation stage and can send us a note to start the waiting period for either adoption or birth!
If you have awareness journey submissions that are still work in progress, you can still submit them and have them counted for the two necessary submission! Nothing needs to go to waste.
General Adoption Rules
Two submissions are needed to start the adoption process, one of the new parent/s preparing to have a child and then as second submission meeting the child they have decided on. These pieces can be art or writing and do not need to be a collaboration. Works should be either flat colored in a simple scene, or at least 500 words. In addition the Harvest Goddess should be depicted watching over them, even if in a cheeky manner like a suspicious cloud in the sky, a reflection in the water, a smirking postcard stamp while the parents-to-be talk about their decision.
The submissions can be combined with Event, Trail or Mine pieces and still hand out rewards. They still need to meet the minimum requirements of their respective category.
the prompts for "preparing to have a child" and "meeting the child" can be interpreted as you wish.
You can collab with members on the two necessary submissions. Maybe your character has a conversation with someone who already has a child. Take a friend for the meeting of the child submission etc.
As long as minimum requirments are met again, the two submissions needed can be combined into a single one (Example. A Comic or Collage with 2 Panels. Writing of 1000 words)
Once this is complete, you can note the group with your submissions. Once received, you will receive a response with your official adoption date. The parent/s-to-be will not get the child right away. They will have to wait five months for their paperwork to go through, and to have their house and background checked.
If the child you are adopting has a special Status (Shiny, Merfolk, Gmax etc.) please have the needed amount of Pretty Feathers or Common Feathers ready when you send the note! Please also mention the status/ multiple statuses in your note.
Children who have a Special Status who have not yet been adopted can be depicted in the official adoption art/writing piece needed above. They should not be depicted elsewhere while waiting for the adoption to finalize.
You are allowed to adopt a child without Aspect, as long as the child is younger than 12 years old. Children who gain their Aspects after being adopted are allowed to be a Merfolk/Shiny/Awakened given the respective item has been used.
For an additional fee Single Parents and Married Folks can adopt Twins or Triplets! They should be depicted in the second submission necessary to start the adoption process.
Single Parents pay: 10k for Twins and 20k for Triplets
Married Folks pay: 5k for Twins and 10k for Triplets
Despite saying "Twins/Triplets" the children do not have to be related or be the same age.
If you do not want to wait the 5 months you can pay for your adopted child to arrive faster! 3k PD per month (that means, 15k PD to have the adopted child instantly). If you are adopting Twins or Triplets, the 3k speed up price counts per child. If you were to bring twins/triplets home instantly that would mean: 30k for twins, 45k for triplets.
After either waiting the 5 months or speeding up the process, you may note the group announcing that your character is bringing home their new child! If you are speeding up the process this can be done in the same note.
Please include in the note: The name, age, gender, Pokemon, and official birthday of the child/children. Also be sure to link your mPC app in the note for a quick review! Please note that the child you adopt needs to be 16 years at highest! 18 year olds and above are not eligible for mPC status unless they have been brought into the group below the age threshold.
Want more children?
After the adoption of a child/children, parents must wait three months before they can have another child/ more children, by either birth or adoption.
General Natural Birth Rules
Two submissions of the new parent/s preparing to have a child are needed to start the pregnancy.
Surrogates and donors are allowed, though the surrogates/donors must be an NPC. Characters of other members cannot take the place of a surrogate/donor.
Due to new breakthroughs from the Raccolto Research Facility, children can now be born having 3 biological parentsvia IVF methods.
The submissions can be combined with Event, Trail or Mine pieces and still hand out rewards. They still need to meet the minimum requirements of their respective category.
the prompts for "preparing to have a child" can be interpreted as you wish.
You can collab with members on the two necessary submissions. Maybe your character has a conversation with someone who already owns a child. Have a friend take your characters to the hospital for delivery etc.
As long as minimum requirments are met again, the two submissions needed can be combined into a single one (Example. A Comic or Collage with 2 Panels. Writing of 1000 words)
Once this is complete, you can note the group with your submissions. Once received, you will receive a response with your official due date, and from there it will be a 9 month wait.
For an additional fee Single Parents and Married Folks can bring Twins or Triplets into the world!
Single Parents pay: 10k for Twins and 20k for Triplets
Married Folks pay: 5k for Twins and 10k for Triplets
The parent(s)-to-be must, pray to the Harvest Goddess at the Divine Spring. This prayer will be a collaborative piece for couples. It should be flat colored in a simple scene, or a 500 word story, followed by a note to the group requesting to speed up the pregnancy.
The prayer subtracts three months off the pregnancy.
Once you have reached the due date (given by the mods) you may send in a note announcing the birth of the child.
If the child has a special Status (Shiny, Merfolk, Awakened etc.) please have the needed amount of Pretty Feathers or Common Feathers ready when you send the note! Please also mention the status/ multiple statuses in your note.
Children can be born without Aspect. The latest they manifest one is at 12 years old.
Please include in this note: The name, gender, Pokémon, and official birthday of the child/children.
Unconventional Conception
The Harvest Goddes heard the pleas of those who cannot, for whatever reason, conceive and offers a little magic aid.
The requirements follow the natural birth rules above, all of them including the Prayer of Mercy. But instead of carrying a child, you will be given a Gracidea Seed to plants and take care for. out of it will blossom a child with the genetic markup of the parents. Regardless of the sex or ability to conceive of the parents. This also means that a child can have 3 or more biological parents.
The Design of the Flower is up to you if you want to draw or write about it.
Want more children?
A couple or single parent, after the birth of a child/children, must wait three months before they can have another child/more children, by birth or adoption.
