It may seem a little boring to draw your character hanging out with their animals over and over again, but let your creativity flow! There are more facets to ranching than what meets the eye. How about making a new fence to keep dangerous carnivores away? Or maybe the Mareep need to be clipped, the cows milked, stables need to be cleaned? Provide some others with your animal products, 'sell' them at the market or prepare them for a transport. Don't limit yourself to drawing the same kind of pictures again and again. As long as a ranch pokemon is included in the picture, it counts towards their growth.
Work must be at least flat colors with a simple scene or around 500 words with your resident included.
If you were to do a comic you would gain Work Items for every panel that meets minimum requirements. If you were to do writing, you would gain one item every 500 words. If you were to do a RP, the Ranch Owner would receive Work Items for every 250 words per Participant (example, every 500 words for 2 people, every 750 words for 3 people, 1000 words for 4 people and so on.).
Pokemon need to be evenly featured in writing/RPs to produce Work Items (mentioning a Skiddo in a single sentence for a 5000 words submission will not get you more than 1 Milk.)
RPs can count toward work pieces, but only the member who is involved with the job can submit and earn produce for the work piece. Both members will still earn PD for the roleplay.
One benefit of marriage is the allowance of collaboration on work-related pieces. However, only one member of the couple will get the work produce. (ex. Spouse A owns a farm, Spouse B owns a ranch. Spouse A makes a sketch of their strawberries, Spouse B colors the sketch. Spouse A would submit the piece because they own the farm, and Spouse A would get the strawberries.)
Work submissions are submitted using our submission form. Be sure to mark all of your benefits and include all work pokemon to ensure you receive the correct produce for your hard work!
Ranchers in Raccolto raise livestock. Pokemon and the products from pokemon will be shown in your inventory. A Ranch upgrade will increase the sturdiness of the barn and fence that a Ranch will have. Consequently it will be much safer for the livestock.
Basic (default for Ranchers) -- Cheaply made, easily damaged by weather. Gets cold in the winter. Included fence is made of unprocessed branches. Comes with a barn that holds 4 Pokemon.
Medium -- Slightly stronger, can withstand a bit more. There is sometimes a chill in the winter. Fence is now made of processed wood: sturdier and larger. Barn now holds 6 Pokemon.
Large -- It's now fully weather proof but it can get cold at night still. The fence is upgraded to stone. Barn now holds 9 Pokemon
Extra Large -- Strong and reliable. Winter isn’t a problem. The fence is reinforced by wooden planks. Barn now holds 12 Pokemon.
Expansive -- Will never get damaged by weather. Climate is properly controlled to keep your Pokemon happy. The fence has been upgraded to Golden Timber. Barn now holds 15 Pokemon.
Ranch Pokémon must be purchased, and will always be at the youngest evolution. After your character has interacted enough with the Pokémon in a submission, the Pokémon will evolve. Once they're evolved, your character must interact with them in art before you can obtain the animal products. Characters are allowed to have mixed ranches, or they may specialize in one type of Pokémon. This is left entirely to the member, as the mod team doesn't track this!
If your character lives near the coast or has a strong desire for a lot of water around them, consider a water ranch! Despite the copious amounts of water, traditional livestock can be kept alongside the fish and clams.
If your character would want to ranch a Pokémon that would be considered unorthodox compared to typical livestock then check out Special Ranches! Even with their "special" status, they can be raised alongside traditional ranchmon and provide the same kinds of produce as they do.
Members have the option to raise mounts instead. This means you would not be allowed any of the above ranchmon for your ranch. Beyond this limit, you are free to ranch any mount to your heart's content! For the full list of mounts, please refer to the Pokémon page.
Mounts cost the same as regular livestock, at 1000pd.
All mounts earn coin rolls instead of ranch produce. Using a Toolkit on a Mount Ranchmon will yield a Gigantic Coinroll.
Out in the world are incredibly rare and powerful creatures that are vicious as they are special. Despite this, there are ranchers who are adamant to own and tame them for their produce, though it is no easy feat. Arrokuda Acquisitions supposedly found instructors to make it possible...
CANNOT be purchased! Two species limit applies to both pets AND workmon!
Higher evolutions provide higher quality ranch produce!
Single Stage Pokemon become Mature after 3 Evolution Points have been reached, they will then produce higher quality items.

Now, your character gets to start out with a basic ranch. But don’t you want more for your character? Here is a list of things you can buy!
Please note, all upgrades build on top of the other: That is, you can’t buy a Large Ranch without first having paid for a Medium Ranch.
To buy something, send a note to the group. Make sure to tell us what you want to buy and your character's name. If you have enough PD, it will be added to your character's inventory.
When purchasing a pokemon, please give it a name and a gender.
Medium Ranch Upgrade -- 1,000 (6 Pokemon)
Large Ranch Upgrade -- 3,000 (9 pokemon)
Extra Large Ranch Upgrade -- 5,000 (12 Pokemon)
Expansive Ranch Upgrade -- 10,000 (15 Pokemon)
*Livestock -- 1,000 each
-- Livestock always begins at its earliest evolution. Please choose a species, gender, and name for your new buddy! Remember to check out the Pokémon Info for what you wish to have as your livestock.
N/A
*Makers -- 5,000 each
Ranchers can turn 2 of the SAME but of any size produce into one refined produce (example, one Small Milk and one Large Milk make one Cheese). Each rancher can buy up to 3 Makers (only one is needed to reap the full benefit, more can be purchased for RP purposes). They need to be featured within work submissions to gain their benefits. The design of the maker/s is up to the individual member.
2 Milk = 1 Cheese
2 Eggs = 1 Mayonaisse
2 Truffles = 1 Oil
2 Honey = 1 Mead
2 Fur / 2 Silk / 2 Wool = 1 Yarn
2 Roe = 1 Aged Roe
2 Pearls = 1 Pearl String
2 Maker Produce = Deluxe Cheese/ Mayo/ Oil/ Mead/Yarn/ Aged Roe/ Pearl Strong
*Luxury Toolkit -- Event Only (Can also be purchased with Community Points)
A set of the highest quality ranch tools ranging from shears to brushes to milkers to everything a rancher can dream of! When used on a fully evolved ranchmon, including mount ranchmon, the rarest produce can be earned (such as Gold Eggs, Royal Silk, and Exotic Milk). Though only one Pokémon can receive the benefits of the toolkit per submission, a rancher is not restricted to that one Pokémon for future work pieces.
Second Career (Basic Farm, Basic Ranch, Basic Business) -- 5000
Third Career (Basic Farm, Basic Ranch, Basic Business) -- 20,000
-- To buy a second career path your character must already have upgraded their Ranch to Large.
-- To buy a third career path your character must already have their second job upgraded to Large.
-- Each career path can purchase additional properties. Properties cannot be shared, even if they are for the same job-type.
* Exceptions are the Stable, Flower Garden, and Event Only Properties.
Can my character only ranch producers or mounts if their first ranch focuses on that?
Not at all! Each ranch a character owns can be dedicated to either or only one, it's your choice!
Can I get produce from multiple ranches at once?
Nope. Only one ranch can be focused on at a time. You may include Pokemon from an additional ranch in a submission, but they will not provide produce, only PD.
