Rainbow Trout Competition

George Donald thanks the 14 club members who braved the cold windy conditions today at Lochter.

The morning started brightly enough with several fish being caught early on. As the day progressed the wind increased making fishing rather difficult. Most of the fish being caught on a sinking line. One of our junior members Andrew Wallace landed a five and a quarter pound fish, the biggest of the day. Catches in the afternoon fell away due to the wind.

In total 25 fish were caught, first place going to Fred Hay, second place to Jim Addie and third place plus heaviest fish went to Andrew Wallace.

George advised us he hopes to organise the next Rainbow Trout competition between May and June, the venue still to be decided. As soon as details become available we will let you know, hopefully the weather will be kinder and we can get more members to attend.
