Range: 1
Effect: You undo damage that has been wrought on another, acting with lightning speed to treat a fresh injury. Doing so is not without cost, as the wound inflicts itself on you instead.
When you cast this spell, you choose another character in range who has taken damage since your last turn. That damage is removed from that character, and you take it instead (it is not affected by any armour, resistances or weaknesses you suffer; it is a straightforward transplantation of Strain).
You can cast this spell using your reaction. If you do, test your Arcane Mastery once.
Roll: Empathetic+Ruthless (Melee Threat)
Range: 1
Effect: Everything on Atrius is infused with Vitium, even the most fanatical of Machines. While Vitium is usually beneficial, this spell turns it against its host, the tiny machines devouring them from within in an agonising display.
When you cast this spell, it deals damage to the target equal to the difference between its Melee Threat and the result of your casting roll.
When you cast this spell, test your Arcane Mastery once.
Roll: Empathetic+Defiant (15)
Range: 2
Effect: You galvanise the vitium in the body of yourself or your allies. Until your next turn, whenever a character within range of the spell suffers retaliation you may grant them 1 armour. You may do this a number of times up to your Arcane Mastery rank; you can give the same target more than 1 armour at once, using up that many uses of this spell.
Roll: Empathetic+Creative (11)
Range: Self
Effect: You shape the Vitium into your body into blades, claws or monofilament-edge spikes, forming simple but effective weapons. When you successfully cast this spell you become armed with a melee weapon with the Intimate quality that has one of the following additional qualities: piercing, quick, shocking. Alternatively, you can remove the Intimate quality.
If you are Critically Successful, you can either choose two qualities, or you can remove its Intimate quality and choose an additional quality.
Roll: Empathetic+Forceful (Ranged Threat)
Range: 0
Effect: You focus the vitium in your body into a flexible lance of razor-edge vitium, sending it snaking across the battlefield to skewer your targets.
Choose any number of targets within range. Roll an attack against them, as if you were fighting multiple opponents in melee; each one that you hit successfully deals your arcane damage to them.
Roll: Empathetic+Astute (12)
Range: Touch
Effect: You galvanise the vitium within the body of this spell’s target, pushing the nanites to knit together wounds, reset bones and purge infection. When you cast a spell on this character, roll your Arcane Mastery. That character’s Strain is reduced by the result. This cannot take their Strain below 0.
If the roll is Critically Successful, this spell is able to remove wounds; if the spell would cause their Strain to hit 0, untick their highest wound and reset their Strain to 1 below their max. If the spell would then still reduce their Strain, reduce it by the remaining amount.

Roll: Empathetic+Precise (10)
Range: Self
Effect: You can sense and manipulate the vitium in the bodies of others.
When you cast this spell, you choose to either survey zone within Range 1, or to survey another character. When you survey a character, you get an overview of their current Strain, Wounds and abilities they have access to. If you are Critically Successful, you can choose one of those abilities; that character can’t use that ability for the duration of the spell. If you do this, this spell gains the [Maintained] tag and you provoke Retaliation.
