The beings that live out in the Glowlands are dangerous by necessity, surviving in brutal conditions. The most dangerous of all are its machines.
The machines of the Glowlands fall into two types; feral and loyalist. Feral machines are ancient things, the surviving killers of the Unmaking that can still remember the furious screams of the Ironmind reverberating in their very souls. They continue their battles still, patching themselves up with whatever they can find, war-maddened veterans of a conflict that has stretched over more than century.
Younger, but no less dangeorus than the ferals, are the loyalist machines. Guided by Iron Priests; those machines still able to link to the Ironmind within the Transcendent Circuit; loyalist machines are more organised than ferals, less prone to fracturing, the tempered steel that makes up the Ironmind’s blade.
Some enemies have Extreme Retaliations, powerful attacks that can only be used at certain intervals.
Unless specified, Extreme Retaliations can be triggered by either ranged or melee attacks. When it’s used, it can’t be used again for a number of rounds equal to the value by its name; for example, a creature with an Extreme Retaliation 1 ability could use it every other round, while one with Extreme Retaliation 2 could use it every third round.
NPCs take damage slightly differently than PCs. Like PCs, they have Strain and Wounds, both of which start at 0 and increase as they get hurt. When an NPC takes damage, they gain that much Strain, and when their Strain hits its maximum they gain a wound and their Strain resets (any excess damage overflows to their reset Strain). When they reach the maximum number of Wounds they can suffer, they die.
Some enemies are so fast or powerful that they are able to deal with multiple enemies with ease. If an enemy has the Supreme talent, then instead of having just one Retaliation they get the number of Retaliations instead.
If a Supreme enemy has unused retaliations at the end of the round, they can use them then, in the same way as enemies who haven’t Retaliated.
