Little is known about Elihu’s mortal life, some say he was born in Saint-Domingue during the Haitian Revolution and fled with esoteric knowledge. Others whisper he was never born at all, but called into flesh by the blood rites of a vanished cult. What is known: Elihu Elliot arrived in Savannah in the early 1800s, already turned, already powerful, already feared.
He entrenched himself in the undercurrents of power, controlling opium routes, whispering into the ears of desperate plantation heirs, and mapping the telluric fault lines beneath Savannah’s crumbling facades. His dominion became the Red Labyrinth, a twisted web of prohibition tunnels, Masonic basements, and collapsed burial vaults beneath the city. By 1850, no supernatural dared move through the underground without his leave.
He was the keeper of ancient blood magics, he blended West African ritual, Native American shamanic practices, and European ceremonialism into a singular, terrifying art. The Red Labyrinth became a living spell under his guidance, a place where the Veil thins, but never breaks; where memories, spirits, and shadows replay endlessly under psychic strain.
He enforced a rigid, brutal neutrality. The Labyrinth was sanctuary and sentence. No violence was permitted, unless sanctioned. All who broke the Shadow Law vanished. Most never returned.
Elhiu’s path fatally intertwined with Sébastien Lafitte, a fellow relic-hunter and spiritualist. Their first meeting in New Orleans, early 1900s, ended in tragedy: the release of a cursed Aztec idol, resulting in sacrificial deaths blamed on Strix hubris. Sébastien never forgave Elhiu for dismissing the carnage as necessary ritual fallout.
Though they clashed again decades later, this time in Georgia, over a Veil-corrupted artifact, they survived something that tore a hole between Savannah and Carcosa. Neither has spoken of that night since. It left them marked. Sébastien’s mistrust of Elhiu became philosophical: one survives the dark, the other dares to master it.
In early 2020, just before the East Wharf Fire and the supernatural Savannah Breach, Elhiu vanished. He was last seen entering the Red Labyrinth during a period of severe Veil fluctuation. Psychic signatures showed signs of deep reality folding, echoes from Carcosa, unstable blood wards, and time fragments looping within the tunnels.
The disappearance of Elihu Elliott has remained the single greatest unresolved fracture in Strix history. His absence hollowed the Red Labyrinth, and quietly reshaped Strix–Court relations. Whether he is dead, imprisoned, transformed, or sustaining a seal beyond the Veil remains unknown.”
Whether Elhiu was consumed, trapped, or transcended is unknown.
Theories include:
He attempted to bind a Tier V Aegis Event and was dragged into the Veil.
He followed a blood-map that led him into Carcosa itself.
He sacrificed himself to delay a larger rupture, either as penance or strategy.
He is still there, watching, waiting for the right moment to reemerge… changed.
Without Elhiu, the Strix lack unity, and the Red Labyrinth’s neutrality is fragile. His disappearance has emboldened others, rogue vampires, artifact smugglers, and even Hunters who fear no judgment beneath Savannah. The Childe Prince, Rowan St. Cyr, has stepped in to stabilize Strix interests, but their vision is vastly different, progressive, performative, and openly Carcosan.
Many fear that without Elhiu’s binding presence, the Labyrinth will collapse, or worse, become an open gate.
