Servants of the Supernatural
While the majority of Savannah’s population remains unaware of the hidden forces shaping their city, this ignorance makes them especially vulnerable to supernatural influence. Thralls are Awakened humans who, by choice, coercion (OOC approved), debt, or enchantment, come under the service of supernatural beings or the Gifted. When they start the process of becoming a Thrall, they are Awakened
Thralls often walk the line between the mundane and the mystical, operating in shadows as loyal assistants, informants, or unwilling pawns. Whether they serve out of ambition, fear, or enchantment, their loyalty typically mirrors their master’s views on supernatural politics and morality.
Thralls fulfill a wide range of functions in service to their patrons, including:
Running errands and maintaining property or sanctuaries
Managing supernatural affairs in the human world
Procuring rare or discreet items from mundane markets
Acting as blood sources for vampires
Delivering messages, silencing loose ends, or keeping secrets
Blending into human society to hide their master’s activities
Spying, blackmailing, and supporting supernatural evasion efforts
Operating hidden networks, safe houses, or private sanctums
Some Thralls are cherished confidants. Others are expendable tools. All are tied, willingly or otherwise, to something far greater than themselves
By Vampires
A vampire may form a Thrall bond by drinking a human’s blood across three separate roleplay scenes (OOC consent required).
Some humans are seduced by the promise of eternal life or power, craving both blood and attention.
Traditional vampires (The Founders) often treat Thralls as status symbols or property, disdained but necessary.
New Blood vampires, by contrast, might form emotionally manipulative or romanticized bonds, blurring the line between service and devotion.
Vampires can find their Thrall/s by the blood connection (but the Thrall can’t find the vampire)
By the Gifted and Other Supernaturals
Humans may enter into magical pacts, favors owed, or contracts with witches, shifters, or Freemasons.
Some are caught in spiritual debt or exchange service for protection, knowledge, or healing.
Thralls in these cases may act as assistants, familiars, ritual aides, or secret-keepers.
Thralls represent a unique stratum within Savannah’s hidden world, not quite supernatural, yet no longer fully free. Their stories often reflect themes of power, temptation, loyalty, and loss… and some eventually rise beyond servitude to claim their own place in the supernatural order, or fall further into it.
