Ghosts of Savannah is built to support both player-driven roleplay and larger shared storylines. Staff generally take a hands-off approach to personal RP unless a story directly impacts, or is likely to be impacted by, established city lore, faction structure, racial abilities, skill frameworks, or the broader setting canon.
In those cases, players are encouraged to reach out to staff for input, clarification, or comment before pushing a storyline too far forward.
This is especially important when actions connect to simwide plots or any of the ongoing mini stories. In these situations, players are expected to submit a Storyteller (ST) Request Ticket, which serves as the primary way staff engage with and support ongoing storylines. Through ST requests, staff help resolve questions, provide additional information, clarify lore, and offer guidance that keeps stories moving in a way that fits the setting.
These requests and responses are not meant to control player stories. Their purpose is to help ensure that stories remain grounded in the roleplay environment we have created together and stay consistent with the tone, structure, and limitations of the world.
We ask all players to respect the time, effort, and care that has gone into building this immersive environment. The systems, lore, and boundaries in place are there to protect the integrity of the setting and to ensure a shared, meaningful experience for everyone. Stories should exist within these bounds and contribute to the world, not work against it.
At the same time, we absolutely welcome player-initiated stories. We want to be clear: reaching out to discuss your ideas is never a bother, an intrusion, or an interruption. We love that you are bringing ideas forward to help shape the life of the sim, and we want to support you while making sure everyone who could be affected by your actions is considered. Staff are happy to collaborate by providing information, scene support, lore clarification, props, assets, or other assistance needed to help those ideas take form within the world of Ghosts of Savannah. We want you to be excited to share your stories with us. Storytelling here works best as a collaboration.
