To support storytelling, not replace it, we’ve created a custom HUD that offers a light, intuitive dice-roll mechanic based on four core stats: Will, Vigor, Presence, and Cunning. You develop your character’s skills and background, and the HUD offers a simple, balanced way to resolve conflicts or uncertain outcomes without disrupting roleplay flow.
If you need help to practice how to use the HUD, contact Dae, Leah or one of your race leaders so they can guide you OOC.
Follow these steps to set up your HUD and get ready for roleplay.
At the Landing Zone, click the icon labeled “HUD”
This will deliver your Savannah HUD.
Find the HUD in your inventory and attach it to your screen.
You should now see it visible on your viewer.
On the HUD, press the Envelope button (last row).
This will send you a folder called:
“GoS Titler & Stats Config”
Inside the folder:
GoS Titler
GoS Titler Info Notecard
PLAYER_CONFIG Notecard
Open the PLAYER_CONFIG notecard and enter your character’s stats:
Abilities:
Will
Vigor
Presence
Cunning
Stat values can be found here:
Drag and drop a copy of the PLAYER_CONFIG notecard into your HUD.
The HUD will read the notecard and apply your stats automatically.
Your HUD is now fully configured and ready for play.
If something isn’t working:
Double check your notecard entries
Make sure you dropped the correct notecard into the HUD
Try detaching and reattaching the HUD
Reach out via an ST Request if needed
Each character has a set of abilities that are particular to them and are distributed by the player when they created the character.
Novices start with 7 points to distribute, Intermediate with 9 points, and Experts with 12.
Each race has 2 extra points on one or more abilities (you can read more about this on the Apply page for each race).
The abilities are: Will, Vigor, Presence and Cunning.
These abilities can be improved by doing RP tasks that you can work on with your Race mentors so that your character can eventually level up. This path is individual for each character and can be discussed with the mentors or with Dae and Leah.
Apart from the abilities, each race type has particular skills they can do (you can read more about this on the Apply page for each race).
Each skill is divided in 3 types of tasks that will have a different outcome depending on the level of your character. Any character can try to do any level of task, but the chances of a novice succeeding a challenging tasks are very low, and the outcome of that success won't match the one that an expert would have had. Also, failure would bring harsher consequences. We included this option because some reckless and impulsive characters might want to go BIG, no matter the consequences and they actually be lucky enough to be successful!
The HUD is used to assure that the success or failure of a character doing the different skills and tasks is fair to everyone involved.
When you are using your skills, you add the appropriate ability to your roll:
WILL – magical/spiritual strength, mental resilience
Any magic a Witch does has to add their WILL
Roll against an object situation who has a spell/ward
VIGOR – physical strength, endurance
Anything that requires strength and endurance
Resist poisons and diseases (magic or physical)
PRESENCE – social influence, charisma, intimidation
Presence is always rolled against another player or group in social interactions
CUNNING – intelligence, reflexes, perception, and dexterity
Anything related to agility and dexterity
Anything related to problem solving and intellect
SKILL ROLLs
Novice: Simple task: Over 5 // Difficult task: Over 13 // Challenging task: Over 20
Intermediate: Simple task: Over 4 // Difficult task: Over 10 // Challenging task: Over 17

Enhancement/Decrease
Players might have items (or enhancements placed on them) that enhance or decrease their abilities, such as a trinket or a ward placed by another player. Each button, on the HUD used for this has the option to add or subtract this to the final roll.
These items are created ONLY by Witches and Freemasons.
Items created by Strix's Blood Alchemy skill can only be used by Strix, and would act as enhancement or decrease.
Effects:
If a Novice uses a skill/ability the effect is +/- 1 on the roll of the receiver
If an Intermediate uses a skill/ability the effect is +/- 2 on the roll of the receiver
If an Expert uses a skill/ability the effect is +/- 3 on the roll of the receiver
Health
Each character has two types of Health. Some skills and enhancements/deductions affect one or the other. You can't have more health points that your maximum PH or MH. This number is established but your ability points.
Physical Health: Your character’s stamina, bodily endurance, and resistance to physical harm (based on your Vigor ability).
Formula: PH = Vigor × 3 + Level + any race add
