Kindred Vampires are undead predators, sustained by blood and bound by a supernatural curse that holds their bodies in a state between life and death. Though they differ in origins, culture, and beliefs, all are united by the need to remain hidden and survive in a world that must never know what they are. Existing in suspended animation, they walk among the living with borrowed vitality, weaving power, seduction, and sorrow into every move. Vampires are timeless , creatures of hunger, history, and haunting purpose.
The oldest families, those who still exist and the descendants, are traditionalists who founded the city and established the Southern Court and view Savannah as their domain. They dominate the court and operate under strict codes based on Southern values. The Founders view newcomers with deep suspicion, seeing them as dangerously liberal and disruptive to their carefully preserved way of life. Among the earliest of these outsiders was a wave of vampires who arrived during the 1920s, artists, rebels, and free-thinkers who challenged the old order and infused Savannah’s supernatural landscape with avant-garde expression, jazz-fueled salons, and radical ideas. The Founders dismissively refer to them as the Bohem, a nod to their bohemian ideals and refusal to conform. Since then, others have followed, vampires drawn to the city’s strange beauty, all navigating the volatile balance between survival, adaptation, and the ever-present tension between the old and the new.
Another distinct faction within Savannah’s vampire society is the Strix, practitioners of blood magic, feared even among their own kind for their arcane rituals and unsettling experiments. Their rumored ties to the Mora only deepen their reputation as both mysterious and dangerous. Though the Strix have long existed in Savannah, they remained on the fringes of the Southern Court, their presence tolerated but rarely embraced. However, in the years leading up to the death of the Childe Prince, they began to assume a more integrated and visible role within vampire politics. Still, their inscrutable ways and dark practices continue to provoke unease among the Kindred Vampires.
Pale and cold to the touch, their bodies do not age, and they do not need to breathe.
They are infertile, but males can ejaculate, but can’t impregnate.
Their canines can be retracted when hiding, and come down when they need to feed or fight.
Vampires do not reproduce biologically.
Only humans can be turned.
Vampires can be created through a ritualized process, where their sire drains the blood of the human four times with the intention of turning them. Each time the Childe drinks for a minute from the Sire and this creates the bond. This process takes a RL month to be completed, with each feeding being once a week.
Being a donor or drinking the blood of a vampire doesn’t start the ritual. The Vampire needs to bite with the intention of turning.
Turning someone against their will is possible, but it will have everlasting effects in the Childe and their relationship with their Sire. This practice is not well-regarded among the Court, but it is understood that some circumstances might need this approach. (OOC player approval for turning is ALWAYS REQUIRED).
Strengths:
Enhanced senses: Vampires ‘s senses are above a human’s but not as keen as the shifters.
Superhuman Strength and Speed: They possess physical abilities far beyond human limits.
Persuasion: Vampires can charm or hypnotize others, bending them to their will.
Weaknesses:
Sunlight: Their level of strength is governed by the sun. They are strongest at midnight and weakest at noon. The sim doesn’t have an official time, so this is up to the players discretion as to vary their strength to give their story more depth and make it more fun. Some planned events might take place at a given time of the day (IC) so this will influence their experience and abilities.
The Hunger: Savannah’s vampires bear a constant, gnawing need to feed, a curse that maintains their sanity but threatens their humanity. Their consciousness depends on consuming the life force of others. In an ironic twist, it’s what keeps them sane.
Most manage hunger with control and moderation, but long-term starvation can lead to a ravenous state (angry, delusional, diminished ability to reason, obsessive behaviour). This state is reversible by drinking blood and going back to their normal selves.
If starved for over 2 years they irreversibly become a Mora (IMPORTANT: Since Mora are not playable the character must be abandoned though still might stay in play as an NPC by the Storytellers).
It’s said the court holds deep in its nest ravenous beasts yet to be unleashed on the city ….. a nuclear option in the balance of power. Some think they should never be released because they are far beyond anyone’s ability to control ….. others have motives for their existence that are too cruel to speak openly. Like any court, there is a constant power struggle.
Sanctity: Holy symbols that are blessed or welded by one with great faith and consecrated grounds repel or weaken them
The Truth: Beneath their poise and courtly elegance, the Kindred are not noble predators but scavengers of life’s refuse. Though they feed easily on the weak, doing so diminishes their esteem within the Court. To maintain power and self-worth, they seek the strong, a perilous pursuit that risks psychological collapse, humiliation, or obsession.
General information:
Blood is both food and fuel, without it, a vampire weakens, their flesh drying and tightening until they resemble the dead.
They can’t drink cold blood (bagged), it has to come from the vein of a living being.
They can eat or drink regular food & drinks. While they don’t provide them with any sustenance, it helps them keep appearances.
Drinking blood from other vampires doesn’t provide them with any sustenance, but some enjoy the intimacy, connection, and sexual pleasure.
Biting:
The vampire can decide the feeling the donor will experience while being bitten:
They can produce excruciating pain, mild discomfort or intense pleasure according to their intention or mood (or something in between).
The donor will feel weakened for one RL day (no matter the race).
Possible effects include: headache, fatigue, dizziness, arousement, hunger, thirst, nausea, etc.
They will have marks in the place where they were bitten for 3 RL days and it will fade.
If they are bitten many times in the same place, it can leave a permanent scar.
The quality of blood (human, gifted, supernatural, or animal) affects their strength:
Humans/Gifted Humans/Wild animals:
PROs: is easily available and no side effects
CONs: it’s not as nutritious and they have to drink every other RL day.
Supernaturals (Witches & Shifters):
PROs: They provide them with more sustenance which lasts 4 RL days.
CONSs: it might be harder to get and also they might get unwanted side effects according to a mandatory dice roll:
1-5: They are weaker for 4 RL days (STR-2)
6-10: They are stronger for 4 RL days (STR+2)
11-15: They are more persuasive for 4 RL days (CHAR+2)
16-20: They are aroused for 4 RL days.
General information:
Among the Kindred, the Blood Bond is a rare and dangerous consequence of repeated exposure to another vampire’s vitae. Unlike ordinary feeding, which is fleeting and transactional, the Blood Bond forges a powerful mystical attachment between the drinker and the one whose blood is consumed. Over time, this bond can develop into an obsessive loyalty characterized by emotional dependence, heightened devotion, and an overwhelming urge to please or protect the dominant vampire. While some within the Courts claim the Blood Bond is a myth or an exaggerated superstition, elders know it as a very real form of enslavement, one quietly feared, quietly used, and seldom spoken of openly.
General information:
Diablerie is the most forbidden crime among the Kindred: the total and deliberate consumption of another vampire’s blood to final death, an act that destroys not only the body but the very essence of the victim. Those who commit diablerie are said to steal fragments of the slain vampire’s power, memories, or soul, gaining unnatural strength at the cost of bearing a permanent metaphysical stain. Officially, the Courts insist that diablerie no longer exists in the modern nights, yet the severity of its punishment, total annihilation without mercy, suggests a darker truth. To even be accused of diablerie is to risk erasure from history and from the Blood itself.
Gaia: Vampires aligned with Gaia see their immortality as a chance to preserve balance, often acting as stewards of Savannah’s supernatural community.
Lilith: Lilith’s vampires revel in their freedom, rejecting hierarchy and embracing hedonism and individuality.
Hastur: Those touched by Hastur descend into madness, their minds filled with visions of Carcosa. They often become manipulators or agents of destruction.
The vampires who founded Savannah originally formed the Southern Court which is deeply entrenched in the ideals and customs of the Old South. Revered by some for their sophistication and feared by others for their ruthlessness, these vampires embody a legacy that stretches back to the era of antebellum plantations and Southern aristocracy rooted in both wealth and secrets. The Founders values, codes, and outlook have been meticulously preserved across generations, standing as both a statement of power and a tribute to the history they helped shape. Their code, customs, and ties to the Old South continue to shape Savannah’s supernatural landscape, casting long shadows over modern conflicts and stirring resentment among those who oppose their antiquated rule. All Kindred and Strix vampires belong to the Court and are subject by their rules.
Currently a Childe of Noble Jones, named Rowan St. Cyr, sits on the throne, revitalizing Savannah’s supernatural scene after the last Prince, Noble Jones, mysteriously and suddenly entered torpor. A patron of the arts and open-minded to talent, they have helped grow the court's influence, allowing those with skills or abilities to join regardless of bloodline. These progressive points of view set the other old family’s uneasy with concerns of change weakening their grip on power. Most long for the old times and long for the true Prince's return.

The current Prince has modified the structure of the court and allowed representation from the other vampires in the city. A member of each group is nominated by their own and then approved or rejected by the Prince. All vampires in the city are welcome to attend court but only the Prince has the final word to make decisions with the advice of the Venerated counsel. Others may be called upon or may request an audience which would need the Prince's approval.
