To get the best of Genome Mate Pro, you should load a list of ancestors for each profile in your database, although it is understood that this may not be possible if you have no knowledge of your family tree. You will still be able to do many things without a list of Ancestors, and can load one or build one at a later time.
You have three options on how to get a list of Ancestors present in this tab.
Note: GEDCOM and Ahnentafel surnames are kept in Title Case so “McDonald” will look like “Mcdonald”. To keep the capitalization put a space after Mc.

The right click menu of the Ancestor tab initially differs dependent on whether it has been previously populated or not.
If it has not been previously populated it contains two menu items:
Add Relatives > Add Profile Person: a question of biological gender is asked for the purposes of being able to sort the resulting list by “X List”. Answer appropriately.
The profile person’s name will be entered as person 1, as you have it recorded in the profile, surname first, then given name.
Once person 1 is in place, the rest of the Ancestors list can be built by using the “Add Father” and “Add Mother” right click menu options. See Manual Entry for more information.Import > Import Pedigree Thief Ahnentafel: See Load an Ahnentafel for more information.
Once the Ancestors tab has been populated, a range of sub-menus are available, along with a fixed option.
Pedigree Chart: Displays the pedigree chart for the person right clicked on.
Parental Confirmation: New in 2020r04 - see Parental Confirmation for more information.
Display sub-menu
Show Direct Line: Bolds the direct line ancestors of the selected person. Also temporarily bolds the descendants if the selected person is not person 1
Show Ancestors: Filters the display to show just the ancestors of the selected person. Escape returns to normal view
Add Relatives sub-menu
Add Father: Does as it says, adds a father in the correct position for the selected person, gives them the same name as the selected person and adds “, father” to the name
Add Mother: Does as it says, adds a mother in the correct position for the selected person, gives them the same name as the selected person and adds
“, mother” to the name
Import sub-menu
Import Pedigree Thief Ahnentafel: See Loading an Ahnentafel for more information
Import Ahnentafel for Selected Ancestor: Allows for an Ahnentafel to be loaded for the selected ancestor - this does not have to be the starting person.
Use with caution: This will replace any ancestors previously loaded for the selected person
Modify sub-menu
Update MRCAs: Updates the spelling of names of previously assigned MRCAs if the Ancestor list differs from the previously assigned. This will not add data where it did not exist before. If the relationship path has changed, the previously assigned MRCA’s will need to be reset manually.
Setup Group Names: Sets up the group names for a manually entered or updated Ancestor list. This can be done at the time of GEDCOM import. Also sets the Standard Surnames.

Copy Ancestor List to Clipboard: Does what it says
Export Displayed Data to .csv file: Does what it says
Delete sub-menu
Remove Entry: Removes the selected person and all their ancestors.
Remove All Ancestors over 10 generations Back: Removes all the ancestors prior to the 10th generation. Any person with an Ahnentafel number of 2048 or higher will be removed.
