When you hover over any control on any page, a one line of help is displayed at the bottom of the page.
For instance, when you hover over “Hide Min cMs” on the Chromosome page, not only does it become bold, and show a tool tip
You will also see an explanation message at the bottom of the GMPro window.
You can stop an import that is in process by hitting the “Esc” key at any time. Be aware that what you thought might be loaded probably did not.
The escape key should also reset a filtered view to the default view for that tab.
To determine what version of Genome Mate Pro is being run, the user must look to the very top of the window that has been created. This will be a strip that is above the “File”, “Edit”, and “Import Data” commands. The format of the data in this strip is as shown:
Macintosh Example
The release version should appear in the middle of the top of the GMPro window, and also in the bottom right hand corner of the program screen.
Windows Example
The release version should appear on the left hand side of the top of the GMPro window, and also in the bottom right hand corner of the program screen.
Throughout the life of your Genome Mate Pro database, you may have merged a number of relatives and don’t want to take the time to look through all chromosomes for the name in black.
1. Export the Chromosome Data file from the Options page.
2. In Excel, turn on the filter.
3. In the Source column, select “Combined”.
4. The resulting list are relatives that have been merged. Names that appear more than once indicate multiple segments that were merged.
If you find you have merged two people by mistake, you will need to delete the unwanted source key using the right click menu in that area and reload the data from that source. You may need to do this for each source. Some people find it easier to simply delete the relative and import the different sources again to regain those matches
