Along with built in templates, GMPro has the functionality for a user to create their own custom templates.
If you are new to GMPro and/or technically challenged, it is recommended you just use the built-in templates.
Some suggestions if you still want to create custom templates.
Read through this entire section before you get started.
Edit your data down to a single record.
Import your custom templates into an empty test database.
Carefully look through GMPro to make sure you imported what you wanted.
Add more records and repeat steps 3 & 4.

Remember to Backup your Database.
Referring to the screenshots, the Import Data has two sections involved.
In the Dropdown menus the side with “From” is called “Import Data Level 1".
This relates to the DNA source, and appears under the "Data Source" heading in the Import Templates listing. It's where you tested or transferred your DNA.
In the Dropdown menus the side with numbers, is called “Import Data Level 2".
This relates to the download method used to collect your data, is the name associated with the import template, and appears under the "Menu Item" heading in the Import Templates listing.
Creating a new custom template is therefore done in two parts.
The first part sets up the left side of the Import Data dropdown, the Data Source of the Import Templates listing
The second part sets up the right side of the Import Data dropdown, the Menu Item of the Import Templates listing.
For documentation purposes, the instructions will be creating a set of custom templates for FTDNA data
