Simultaneous interpretation is definitely a "practice makes perfect" type of subject. I will admit it was a bit daunting starting out this quarter, but after various frustrating encounters and failed attempts with different screen-recording tools, I was able to get the hang of it more or less. Of course, I still require practice but I'm in a much better place than I was starting out. The syllabus was perfectly designed to progressively improve my interpreting skills through different topics (legal, medical, slow, fast, and so on).
The only thing I would like to note is that going forward, the course could probably use the disclaimer that faster equipment is necessary in order to properly record screen, internal audio, and voice over speaker. I have a Dell laptop from 2020 and had to change its hard drive even though there was nothing technically wrong with the computer, to be able to execute the tasks.
