I was able to completely nearly all of my objectives for this week apart from a few due to situations that were out of my control. Even though I didn't create exactly what i wanted with the chord progression and had to get billy in I was still able to learn a large amount from billy with how country music chord progressions work and how you can take for example a very simple 4 chord song and change it massively with riffs and strumming patterns. I was able to follow my plan for this week and achieve some of my goals however some songs were better than overs but I was able to map my days out very well so I didnt have to deal with loads of problems. I also was worried at the start of the week with the fact i was really struggling and now I have 3 starting points for songs which I can work on and add lyrics which has actually put me ahead of my deadline which is what I want early on as i know that I am going to have problems very likely in the near future. I am also able to have billy help me record all of my tracks which means that I am not going to struggle with collaborations as I need half of them now which is perfect. I was able to conduct research on different artists that I was able to implement in my work which means the research is actually helping my work which is exactly what I wanted. My problem solving has allowed all of the troubles I came across to be solved and thanks to this I was able to stay in time I also was able to look into some research into artists and this allowed me to show billy what kind of music I liked and wanted it to sound like and he explained that helped him massively when it came to figuring out what notes to play especially when it came to riffs. Thanks to me conducting this secondary research this week I was not only able to tell and explain to billy what I wanted but I also wass able to learn the kind of music I wanted to make with this ep which before I wasn't completely confident with until I looked into artists like riley green and sam barber and this is were my inspiration for my first song came from. All the information I gathered helped me massively and I was able to actually use the information I learnt and implement it in my work which was a huge positive. The work I have conducted this week has been extremely successful and is going to make the next weeks ahead less rushed so I can focus on my songs even more which helps. The work I was actually I was able to create demo tracks for three songs of my FMP and also finish the instrument for one of them. This shows that my development has improved with songwritting compared to what it was before hand. This going to help my goals when i go to uni as im going to be doing a lot of songwriting on this course and its helping me.
Due to the fact i started FMP late i was slightly behind everyone from the start. The reason i was late was because my partner cancelled on me and it caused me to Have to come up with a new idea for my FMP and also re write my proposal which took close to a week. All i had to do was film my presentation. However due to the fact there were still a large amount of people yet to record there presentations there wasn't any time for me to record mine. This was ok though because my teacher said to carry on working on my fmp as i couldn't afford to get any more behind and thank god I did as i was able to achieve so much in this week. Another thing that went wrong was my ability to song writer on my own, i originally wanted to write not only vocals but possibly the guitar parts as well like chord progressions and so on but after trying i realised i didnt know enough about that instrument and needed someone with a bit more experience. I figured rthis out after creating a song but it not actually sounding like the genre I wanted and io needed someone to help me do this but I was lucky to find billy who new how to do this but I did have to spring this whole thing on him and I should have been prepared. I only conducted secondry research which is other people talking about work were as i needed some primary research which is for example talking to a country artist and asking them if they have any advise for me as they have done it before.
I would have noticed that my expectations with my ability on my secondary instrument wasn't good enough and i was being to unrealistic with my ability. If i had noticed this earlier i would be even more ahead than i am and I wouldn't have wasted any time and would have got people in. Another thing i would have done is make sure i had my collaborations ready before starting my project as even though i was able to get billy there was always a chance that he was to busy so i would have been put in a big problem and the truth is after looking around billy is the only one who knows how to play the style i was looking for and i very likely wouldn't have been able to get the best outcome for my ep. I also would have done some more primary research for this week as i haven't been able to conduct any as i didnt know who to talk to as I was quite busy and this would have helped massively with not only billy but coming up with song ideas in general before i started working with billy.
