Introduction 

Distrobution is a way in which you can release your music on multiple streaming platdforms by signing up to a app which does all of the marketing work for you on the streaming platforms. The most famous one I know being distro kid which is mostly used in my school and local l. area which is 2 pounds a month on the lowest subscription. What distrobutio complany do is they get rid of the middle man like a record company who would do this for you and they do it for a monthly subscription however you do have to promote the music yourself all it is able to do is release it for you and its good for people like me who dont have spotify premium or anything like that with other streaming platforms which means me releasing music like this is actually overall cheaper to do which is amazing. How most off them work is the more time you give them to releasse the better the algoryth will work with trying to share it to there people for exampleif you give it a four week window it will put the songs in peoples sugested playlists and so on.

Distro Kid 

Distro kid is a distrobution service that will release all of your music on nearly all avaliable streaming platforms so it can be found anywhere even on mon musical platforms like youtube. The main services that are most popular are: Amazon music, sound cloud, spotify, apple music and i tunes however there are many more.  The app doesnt taske comition and has unlimited uploads over the year time period while you pay your fees which means if your songs become famous and you blow up all of the money earnt from the songs goes straight to you and distro kid doesnt take any of it which is amazing for the musican and is a reason it is suggested quite highly over other distrobution apps. They also have a bunch of tools that include distrobuting music for example adding lyrics on streaming platforms and also music videos. They also offer for a bit of money a instant mastering tool on there app so when youi release your music its at it highest quality. Distro kid offeres a wide variaty of subscriptions obviously regarding the more you pay the better things are included and your music is released faster which is a key aspect. All of them are for different kinds of musicans from solo artists really only looking to release not a lot of music to full bands with loads of access for everyone and the ability to release albums. The music also shouldnt take long to release howevewr this does varry between both streaming platforms and the amount of songs and extras your using and releasing. However a rough estimate can be seen bellow in the picture. however from primary research i have conducted with people who have used the app it should take up to a few days to a week max. They also have a help line that if you believe you did something wrong or have some questions they have multiple ways to contact them the quickest being a chat which you can acess through the bubble in the corner but they do also have other contact detail on there site but they wont be as quick to respond as the chat. They also allow you to edit your releases which is a very handy feature if you accidently miss spell something or miss some information you can go back and change it but you need to wait for the music to be re released. Another thing that is a negative about distro kid is if you cancel your subscription then it means that all of your music gets removed and deleted so to keep it there youhave to kerep paying the monthly fee which is the only problem with the app as a whole.

CD Baby 

CD baby is very similar to distro kid however it has some possitives that is believed to be better than distro kid. These being instead of a anual fee and if you cancel it you loosew your music CD baby only charges you a initial £9.99 to have the app but there are no more extended fees. However there arenegativers as well. For example all the earning you will msake of theese songs CB baby will take ten percent as even though that doesnt sound like much but ifyou become famous and these songs blow up which is the majority of peoples aims when releasing music you will loose a hige amount of money of this. Hiwever the company is extremely successful, its been around since 1998 and has paid out since one billion dollars to artists which is a hige achievement for not only the distribution company but also the music industry as a whole. This distrobution company is backed up by big artists like Aloe Blacc who is both a singer song writter but also a record producer and this is his views on the app in this quote. “CD Baby makes it super easy to drop a worldwide release on your own schedule. The user interface is simple and the terms are great. The best part is when you see an email with the sales statement. Then you know the music is making an impact on people.” This quote can be found on there first page when you click on there website along side three more quotes from other famous artists or producers. Like distro kid they have a similar support team but CB babys does also help boost your music a bit more than distro kid from what it seems. They also give you the option to create CD's and vynls which other distrobution companys very rarely do. The app currently has over 2 million users that are actively releasing music. However this app is more run in the USA so you would have to get CB boost which is a slight increase in boost but gives you loads of more fetures and makes sure your work is copy trighted aswell.
