Mark the line you're going to cut along
Set the blade guard to just above the material, about 1/8"
Place the workpiece flat on the bandsaw table, never held in the air
Keep your fingers clear of the blade AT ALL TIMES
If holding your workpiece puts your fingers too close to the blade, use a piece of scrap wood as a push stick
Apply gentle and steady force to move the workpiece into the blade. Too much force can damage the blade, and cause binding
Only start cutting when the blade is up to full speed
Never distract or crowd someone using a bandsaw
If you need to back out a cut, turn off the blade and wait for it to come to a complete stop before backing out your material
Do not adjust the bandsaw while it's running
Stay at the bandsaw until the blade comes to a complete stop
