Hello new Electrical members! We hope you will have a great time on the Electrical sub-team! This page has subpages that pertain to each week in the training season. Each week has two days with activities to learn about Electricity and Electronic components.
What Will it be like?
Each meeting, mentors and the leads of the Electrical sub-team guide the members on different lessons and activities that allow the members to have a hands on experience! Below are the general things that you will learn as a new Electrical member.
The basics of electricity, how it works
Circuit design
How different components work including but not limited to:
Sensors
Motors
Motor controllers
Switches
Encoders
Microcontrollers
Discrete electronic components like resistors, transistors, or diodes.
How to use the different components and applying them
Working with your hands
Quizzes may need to be completed by both members that are able to come to the meets or members that need to use the online version of the lessons. Don't worry about the quizzes, it's just a way to help us keep track of how our members are doing, and with that info, we can better improve the Fall Training for Electrical.
What is the Website for?
The website, including this very page, is partly meant to store information about the team, training, etc. For the Electrical sub-team, the website is used to keep members on the same page even if members aren't able to go to every single meet. That means that if you can't come to a meet, you can still catch up by going to the lesson(s) that you've missed in a certain week or day online, on this page. Let's say you've missed a meeting on the second meeting of week 3. You can go to the Fall Training for New Members page and select week 3, then scroll in the page to day 2 (the second meeting for that week), and follow along with the page. Pretty convenient right? However, this doesn't substitute for an actual hands on experience, and besides, sitting on a computer looking at a webpage can get boring. So we still suggest for you to try and come to as many meetings as you can.
