14.10.2019 – Monday
The host school prepared a show which was based on the most important things about ancient Greece. The guests learnt about the creation of the world, the ancient gods and goddesses so as the abduction of Europe.
After the performance the workshops in Ethnographical Museum were organized both for the teachers and the students. The teachers were talking about the games that they used to play when they were children and the students learnt how to play some traditional games from their teachers’ childhood. Then all of the guests played two traditional Greek games called “The mouse and the cat” and “Music chairs”
15.10.2019 – Tuesday
On this day the students presented their national games and played them with their friends from the partner countries. The teachers took part in the art workshops. They learnt how to sew traditional dolls. After the workshops the coordinators had a meeting to present the activities which were done after the last mobility which took place in Poland in May:
- Polish Day activities,
- Open-air games,
- The evaluation after the 1st year.
The main coordinator informed the partners what activities and materials are required for the meeting in Sweden.
At the same time the children who took part in the mobility had to present natural monuments from each partner country. After that they had art workshops during which they were making friendship bracelets.
During that time the teachers visited local kindergarten to learn something about the Greek educational system.
16.10.2019 – Wednesday
On this day the host school organized the visit to the Museum of Natural History and the Information Centre of Delta River. The guests learnt a lot about this region of Greece. They also improve their knowledge about the birds and wild animals by watching educational films and listening to the experts. In the end they went on an excursion to observe different species of birds in their natural habitat. After this they visited the Byzantine Church called “Panagia Kosmosotira” in Feres.
17.10.2019 – Thursday
On this day the team took part in a historical tour. 1st the guests visited the Ancient Theatre of Philippi, which is situated 15km from Kavala. Then they had a guided tour around the archaeological site of Philippi which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The partners got to know how the city worked in the past and how the everyday life looked liked in the ancients times. After that they went to the Thasos Island which is considered the greenest island in Greece and is the jewel of the Aegean sea. On the island the guests visited The Archaeological Museum of Thasos which consists of collections of sculpture, pottery and architectural remains from the Neolithic to the Roman times. At the end they visited the “Vistonida” lake to see the natural monument of “Porto Lagos” and observe different species of birds in their natural habitat. They also visited the traditional monastery of Porto Lagos.
18.10.2019 – Friday
In the morning the teachers went to see the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas which was built in the neo-classical style, the complex represents the diptych of Greek Education and Christian Orthodox Faith and Worship. After that they went to the Ecclesiastic Museum, where they had a lecture titled ” The Christians heroes (Saints) in orthodox agiografy”. When the lecture was finished the guests had a tour around the museum to learn how the agiography is made. Later on the students had ICT workshops during which they tried to create their agiographies.
The next part of the day was connected with the history of the host town, Alexandroupolis. The guests went to the History Museum of Alexandroupolis where they learnt a lot about the first settlements in this region of Greece, so as their everyday life in the past. They also had a chance to visit the Lighthouse which is not only the symbol of the town but also it had and still has a very important role for the seaway.
After that there was the second coordinators’ meeting during which the budget and the last meeting were discussed.
In the evening the International Party was organized to present Greek and polish folk dances. The guests got their certificates of attendance and they could thank all of the host families and the teachers from Palagia for a wonderful week.

To do list
1. Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Sweden and Turkey will prepare Greek Day activities.
2. All of the partners will upload photos in the project gallery.
3. Each country will prepare a presentation about traditional sports (up. to 3)
4. Each school will prepare materials which will be used in Sweden to prepare leaflets about popular winter resorts in each partner country.
5. The students should also prepare a presentation about a man and a woman who achieved something important in sport.
6. There should also be prepared a presentation about a Nobel Prize winner from each partner country.
