1st LTT PROJECT MEETING

Both students and teachers had a very effective and educative LTT Project Meeting in Matera/Italy.
According to our arrangements during the previous meeting in Sweden, our theme of this meeting was “Traditional Food”. For that reason, there was a presentation of three traditional dishes by each country, followed by the traditional recipes e-book workshop by the students of each country in the project and display of traditional food of each country that was brought the partner countries during the week.
The coordinators had two meetings to check the ongoing activities of the project, to present the presentations on the project website and decide to do list for the next meeting in Poland in May. Furthermore, the coordinators also discussed the topics as follows in the meetings:
- questionnaires based on all the topics above so as history and culture of the host country
-the results of the questionnaires done by the partner schools about the project and presented by Greek partner
- creative workshops on all the topics above
- International parties to integrate the children, teachers and host families
- trips to local museums and cultural sites (e.g. UNESCO world heritage) which will be related to the project objectives;
- culture in a box - before LTT each country gathered information related to the topics of the meetings and bring them to the next meeting. The children created films, posters out of them being divided into project teams.

Monday, 11th March 2019
The partners, teachers and students, arrived at school at 9:00 in the morning and the welcome ceremony started with all the students greeting our guests with their flags. Followed by the Headmaster, The Matera 2019 Foundation Chief, The Councilor for Public Educatio and the coordinator welcome speeches and The National Anthems of all the partner countries performed by the School Orchestra in the school’s theatre.
Other activities done during Monday were videos presentations about traditional dishes. The students of each partner countries also presented their countries, cities, local areas, schools and educational systems.
Then, while the students were taking part in the making of handmade pasta workshop, coordinators and teachers visited the school buildings, joined some classes and met the Italian teachers and students. They had a chance to compare and contrast the educational systems. After the lunch in the school garden and tasting different kinds of traditional food in the afternoon all the teachers and students were involved in the activity including project videos about Matera, the surrounding areas and the places all the participants were going to visit in the following days as well as all partners' towns.
Tuesday - the 12thMarch 2019
All the participants met at school at 9:00 and shortly after left to go to visit the UNESCO site of the “Sassi”, The Medieval Cathedral, The “Ridola” National Archaeological Museum and the “PalombaroLungo”, the second biggest water cistern in Europe after the one in Istanbul, Turkey.
In the afternoon, While the students were in ebook workshop, the coordinators held a meeting. During the meeting did the coordinators;
-discuss the LTT meeting which will be held in Poland in June,
-talked about participants, transportation, accommodation, communication and activities will be organized for the meeting in Poland,
-decided to prepare some materials about the history of the partners. According to the selection by lot each partner country will prepare materials – information and photos connected with the history of one of the other partner countries as follows:
Greece → History of Italy
Sweden → History of Poland
Poland → History of Turkey
Turkey → History of Bulgaria
Bulgaria → History of Sweden
Italy → History of Greece
The partners will bring the materials to the LTT in Poland and make posters during the meeting.
Wednesday - the 13th March 2019
All the teachers and students in the project met at school at 9:00 and left to go to the didactic farm to take part in the two active workshops related to traditional food:
-From milk to cheese
-From wheat seed to bread
All of the partners were involved in doing cheese and bread and then tasted the products of their work. They also saw horses, cows, goats, sheep, geese, turkeys, chickens, hens, dogs and cats at the farm.
Thursday - the 14th March 2019
After all the participants met at school at 9:00, they left Matera to go to visit the “Siritide” National Archaeological Museum in Policoro and the VI BC century Greek temple of Hera in Metaponto.
In the evening, we had the Farewell International Party where two tables, in the middle of the room, were laid with our five guests’ delicious traditional food.
Certificates of attendance were given during the farewell international party.
Friday - the 15th March 2019
The students in the project were attending the workshop: embossing on copper while all the coordinators had a meeting. In the meeting did the coordinators:
-listen to some rules that explained by Swedish coordinator related about working on project. According the common decision all the partners decided to work during the project cooperatively, harmoniously, flexibly and respectfully. Communication will go on via short and yet informative emails about the project.
-Greek coordinator presented the results of the questionnaires done by all the partner schools by teachers, students and parents about the project.
-Each coordinator presented "Swedish Day" activities and three recipes of their traditional dishes, which were prepared by the students and uploaded by the coordinators to the project website.
-talked about the tasks that will be done by the partner countries about the Italian Days activities.
-planned the activities for next trip to Poland and decided three National Dances from each partner country because of the theme "National Dances"
- decided a “to do list” for the next mobility in Poland as follow:
