For the exam, students will be questioned on the content of 5 sessions (these themes are fixed in advance with the professor). The exam consists of an abstract presented by the student, followed by a discussion with the professor. Besides factual knowledge, the underpinnings of the student's opinion in a policy context on the subject are important.

1) Air travel: "airport are capacity restrained". Explain the statement. What are the consequences of horizontal (re)organisations of air travel (logistics and travel)?
2) Tourism: Case study of transport between Rio and Sao Paulo (additional paper from discussion). What did we learn from this study? Can these recommendations be applicable in general?
3) Maritime transport: Large scale maritime transport is closely linked to local/regional develoment. Explain why.
4) IURT: SWOT of TEN-T project.
5) Urban transport: Explain nature, causes, consequences and solutions of the urban transport problem.
6) Rural transport: Pulse time table of the Swiss (additional paper from discussion). What does this imply? Would it be managable in the rural areas you are familiar with.
