작가 소개

장진택은 독립 기획자이자 현대 미술 연구자로, 동시대성에 기반한 한국의 큐레이팅 실천 및 그 형성 과정에 관심을 두고 전시와 텍스트를 생산한다. 일민미술관, 플랫폼엘 컨템포러리 아트센터, 인사미술공간 등지의 기관에서 전시를 기획하였고, 기획 전시 플랫폼 INTERACTION SEOUL을 독자적으로 운영키도 했으며, 현대자동차 ZER01NE 크리에이터 스튜디오 팀장을 역임한 바 있다. 현재는 홍익대학교 외래교수와 대구가톨릭대학교 강의교수로 일하면서, 2023년 서울시립미술관 난지미술창작스튜디오 17기 입주 연구자로 선정되어 제도로서의 큐레이팅과 한국 현대 미술사 간 그 형성의 역학 관계를 연구한다.

Jintaeg Jang is an independent curator and researcher in contemporary art who creates exhibitions and texts with an interest in the curatorial practices in Korea and their formulation based on the notion of contemporaneity. Jang curated numbers of exhibitions at institutions such as Ilmin Museum of Art, PLATFORM-L Contemporary Art Center and Insa Art Space, and had organized an independent platform INTERACTION SEOUL for curatorial practice. He also worked as a team lead at ZER01NE Creator Studio, a creative division at an open innovation platform operated by Hyundai Motor Company. Currently, he is a lecturer at Hongik University and Daegu Catholic University, and he is also a resident researcher, a part of the 17th cohort, of the SeMA Nanji Residency. As a researcher, Jang is interested in the dynamics between the configuration of 'curating' as an institution and contemporary art history in Korea.
