On Saturday I decided to take a quick day trip to Cádiz, a city on the coast that is near Seville. I took the train early in the morning and it took about 2 hours to get the the coast. I walked around on the beach when I arrived and I got a snack from a grocery store before heading to the harbor. I booked a catamaran tour of the Port of Cádiz so I met up with my group and boarded the boat! It was a beautiful 1.5 hour cruise around the port and I got to see a lot of the historical monuments of the city to learn a little bit more. It was a beautiful day to soak up the sunshine and enjoy time on the water.
After the tour I picked up my groceries for the day and headed to the beach. I have found that the most efficient way to spend money on my weekend trips is to get food from the grocery stores. Produce is very inexpensive and there are so many local foods to try for a very low cost! I spent most of the day on the beach and exploring the city on foot. I was able to connect so much of the architecture I saw to the things I have been learning in classes which was really special. At the end of the day I watched a beautiful sunset over the beach as I walked back to the train station to return to Seville. It was the perfect way to spend a peaceful day off!
