Sunset the night we arrived in Sevilla
Mallory, Me, and Sophia
Torre del Oro: 10 minute walk away!
After arriving in Sevilla I was so excited to move in with my host family. We received our placement information the week prior, so I knew the name of my host mom and where I would be staying. Mallory and I had decided to come to Sevilla a couple of days early to explore the city, so I already felt like I was learning the layout of the city. We had been staying close to City Center and our host family house was across the river. We decided to take an Uber to limit the amount of walking across the city with our big suitcases. Upon arriving at our host mom's house we were greeted with hugs and shown to our room. Mallory and I share a room but it was such a relief to unpack my suitcase and hang my clothes in my own closet. Our host mom made us a delicious lunch and was very welcoming! I was a bit overwhelmed at first since she only spoke Spanish, so I have been helping translate for her and my roommates. Later that day our other roommate Sophia moved in. The three of us clicked very quickly and have loved living together! In my first couple of days in the house I spent a lot of time walking around and exploring the area. We live near the river which is beautiful, and there are historic monuments to see everywhere I walk!
