With Emma at Plaza de España
My friend Emma came to visit from Galicia on my last weekend in Sevilla! I arrived back from Barcelona and got ready to spend time with her Saturday night. Sevilla was extremely busy that night because the Magna was going on - a huge religious procession of the different brotherhoods in the city. My friend Jess (a different Jess than Barcelona) joined Emma and I for dinner and we got some fantastic tapas to share. Emma and I walked around for a bit and got a drink and some basque cheesecake before calling it a night!
The next day we met for breakfast near the city center and I got to be a tour guide around Sevilla! I was so excited to finally use my knowledge from the artistic monuments class to teach someone about the history and culture of the city. We started at the Plaza de España and Parque María Luisa, went to the setas, the cathedral, and wandered around quite a bit! We got lunch at my favorite pizza place before picking up Emma's bags to head for the airport! She didn't have to fly out until 7, but the streets started closing for the processions again at 3pm, so we had to weave our way through the city just to get to the bus stop! It was a whirlwind of a last weekend but I am so glad I got to see Emma again and finally show someone around this beautiful city!
