Sub Plans Using AI

You never know when you'll need an emergency lesson plan! We created these plans using two of our favorite sites: Diffit and DALL E 2

We used DALL E 2 to create custom images for our texts. We entered text to describe what we wanted to see, and DALL E 2 made our beautiful images.  (We always tell it what we want to see and in what style. For example, in the style of Van Gogh, like a modern painting, etc.)

We used Diffit to linguistically modify our articles. We found articles we liked and put them in Diffit, and the site worked magic.
Additionally, Diffit added essential vocabulary words, a summary, multiple-choice questions, and open-ended questions that we like to use as discussion questions.  Diffit is getting better each day, but some of our favorite features are exporting to Google Docs and creating a Google Form.

The first article is about getting names right from the Harvard Business Review. It's been adapted to the fourth-grade level.

The second article comes from the New Yorker and has been adapted to the 4th-grade level. It addresses racism and stereotypes, so we recommend using it with older students who feel comfortable reading about and discussing these issues.
